Discreet integration of smart safety technology
The X-904 UC was developed for use with the Quin Pod, a small sensor module that attaches to the rear of the helmet. This solution is designed to add an intelligent safety feature to a classic touring helmet without burdening the wearer with additional controls or visible changes. Several O’Neal models have also been designed for use with the pod. Although Quin also offers universal modules, the system is directly integrated into the X-904 UC.
How the Quin Pod works
According to the manufacturer, the pod measures movements and accelerations up to 6,000 times per second. Based on this data, an algorithm analyzes patterns and is designed to recognize various events, including falls, strong blows, or abrupt movements. If such an event is registered, the system automatically informs the three emergency contacts previously stored with status and location in real time.
An acoustic signal sounds before this message is sent. The alarm can be stopped via the associated app, for example if the incident was harmless. For users of the paid Quin Plus service, the Quin Response System also comes into play. This system is designed to enable direct forwarding to professional emergency services in 32 countries. This is particularly relevant if the driver is unconscious or unable to make the emergency call themselves.
Data for analysis and health monitoring
The pod is not only designed to offer protection in an emergency, but also to record information about the ride itself. This includes speed, acceleration, braking behavior, and general movement data. Drivers can use this data to track how temperature, riding style, and fatigue develop. According to the manufacturer, the HeatSense function measures the temperature inside the helmet and combines this with other movement data. This is intended to reveal whether heat is affecting riding behavior.
The system also detects when the helmet falls off or receives an impact, which can indicate whether the helmet shell is still intact. The system evaluates this information without the rider having to actively intervene.
Data use and insight into your own riding behavior
During a presentation, questions were asked about possible data protection concerns. According to Quin, only the developers themselves will have access to the anonymized data. This data will be used to improve knowledge about motorcycle accidents and to provide emergency services with the most accurate information possible in the event of an accident.
Those who wish to do so can access their own riding data via the app and identify possible patterns. According to the manufacturer, the system allows riders to draw conclusions about their own behavior, which could contribute to a more controlled riding style in the long term.

Availability and price
No price has been announced yet. However, it is estimated that some helmets with Quin Pod could cost around $120 extra. This corresponds to approximately €110. No details have been provided about variants or the specific market launch date, but the model was presented at EICMA 2025 and is scheduled to be released for the 2026 season.
