- Fully adjustable KYB suspension with 230 mm of travel and Brembo brakes
Chinese motorcycle manufacturer CFMOTO has announced pricing and availability of the 1000 MT-X for the European market. The adventure motorcycle, unveiled at EICMA 2024, is set to arrive at dealerships in spring 2026 and could shake up the segment with its aggressive value proposition.

946 cc and 112 hp: The CFMOTO 1000 MT-X Engine
At the heart of the 1000 MT-X is a liquid-cooled 946 cc parallel twin with DOHC valve timing. The engine produces 83 kW (112 hp) at 8,500 rpm and delivers a maximum torque of 105 Nm at 6,250 rpm. The powerplant is said to be based on the KTM 890 Adventure engine. Power is transmitted through a six-speed gearbox with a bidirectional quickshifter and a multi-plate wet clutch. The compression ratio is 13.5:1, and the engine meets Euro V+ emissions standards. CFMOTO quotes fuel consumption of 4.6 liters per 100 kilometers and CO₂ emissions of 108 g/km. Top speed is 208 km/h (129 mph).
Suspension and Brakes: KYB and Brembo on Board
For the suspension, CFMOTO relies on name-brand components. Up front is a fully adjustable 48 mm USD fork from KYB, while the rear features an equally fully adjustable monoshock. Suspension travel measures 230 mm at both ends. The rear swingarm is made from an aluminum alloy in a twin-spar design. The frame is a tubular steel construction.
The braking system is entirely from Brembo. The front features two 320 mm discs with radially mounted fixed calipers, while the rear has a single 260 mm disc with a twin-piston caliper. Bosch ABS with cornering function and Bosch traction control are standard equipment.
The tire setup follows the classic adventure pattern with 90/90 R21 at the front and 150/70 R18 at the rear on aluminum rims.

Electronics and Equipment
The 1000 MT-X features four riding modes: Sport, Rain, Offroad and All-Terrain. Controls are managed through an 8-inch TFT touchscreen display. A T-Box comes standard, as do USB-A and USB-C ports. Lighting is full LED throughout. An adjustable windshield is also part of the standard equipment. CFMOTO offers a four-year manufacturer warranty or 40,000 kilometers of total mileage, excluding commercial use.
Dimensions and Weight
The CFMOTO 1000 MT-X measures 2,280 mm in length, 936 mm in width and between 1,425 and 1,475 mm in height. The wheelbase is 1,530 mm, and the seat height sits at 875 mm. The fuel tank holds 22.5 liters. Ground clearance is listed at 240 mm by CFMOTO. The wet weight is 222 kg (489 lbs), with a maximum gross weight of 465 kg, yielding a payload capacity of 243 kg.

Price and Availability: A Challenge to the Competition
The CFMOTO 1000 MT-X is available in two colors: Aerolite Grey and Tactical Green. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price is 10,999 euros (approximately 12,979 USD) in Germany and 11,999 euros (approximately 14,159 USD) in Austria. At launch, a limited-time introductory price of 9,999 euros (approximately 11,799 USD) in Germany and 10,999 euros in Austria will be offered. The offer is valid until June 1, 2026, or while supplies last, as quantities are limited.
This positions the 1000 MT-X significantly below the established competition in terms of price. For comparison: the Yamaha Ténéré 700, which sits one displacement class lower, costs 12,599 euros in Germany. The Aprilia Tuareg 660 ranges between 11,000 and 12,500 euros, and the Suzuki V-Strom 800 is priced at 10,390 euros. In the 1000 MT-X’s actual displacement class, the gap is even more pronounced. A Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin starts at 16,449 euros in Germany.
What This Means for Me as a Motorcyclist
The CFMOTO 1000 MT-X strikes a nerve with its combination of liter-class performance, brand-name components and aggressive pricing. At 112 hp, it is the most powerful model in its price range based on available data, and at the introductory price of 9,999 euros, it costs less than many midrange adventure bikes with 660 to 800 cc. If you’re interested in the segment, the 1000 MT-X is an option worth at least test riding once it hits dealerships. Whether the Chinese brand can keep up with the established manufacturers in terms of build quality, resale value and dealer network remains to be seen in real-world use. Whether and when the 1000 MT-X will also launch in the US market is currently unknown.
