Triumph Trident RS by FCR Original: The sporty transformation of the mid-range triple

The Triumph Trident 660 is considered an accessible entry-level model with a sporty touch, making the legendary British three-cylinder philosophy available to a wider audience. But as solid as the production model is, for some enthusiasts it lacks that final visual and dynamic kick. This is exactly where FCR Original comes in. With its latest project, the French custom manufacturer from Chauvigny has transformed the Trident into a sporty one-off that almost looks like a production model – were it not for the addition of “RS,” which Triumph itself never assigned.

Design with character: From street bike to café racer

FCR Original has given the Trident 660 a completely new look. The modifications begin with a striking bikini-style front fairing that wraps harmoniously around the headlight and gives the silhouette an aggressive dynamic. The two-piece seat design with a slim but elegant rear section replaces the standard two-person seat without requiring any modifications to the frame. This means it is reversible and well thought out.

The kit is completed by an aluminum rear fairing, clip-ons, a specially designed radiator grille, LED lighting, SW Motech footrests, and a ceramic-coated exhaust system. Everything is “Made in France” and available either in raw condition or in the paint color of your choice.

Technical highlights: Focus on lightweight construction and ergonomics

The modifications are not just visual. FCR has also refined the ergonomics and performance. The low-mounted clip-ons ensure a sportier seating position, while a Brembo radial pump optimizes braking performance. A K&N air filter ensures greater breathing efficiency, and those who want a particularly classy look can opt for Rotobox Boost carbon rims, as shown in the example – a special feature that is not included in the standard kit.

Customization within reach

Unlike many one-off custom bikes, the Trident RS from FCR is not a unique piece. The complete conversion kit is available to the public. The price is around €2,500 (approx. $2,700) for the unpainted version and €3,000 (approx. $3,250) for the painted version. This makes it affordable for ambitious hobby mechanics to turn their Trident into a unique work of art.

An RS that never existed – but should have

With this version, FCR Original shows what the Triumph Trident 660 is capable of. The result is a motorcycle that carries the DNA of the sporty RS series without losing its accessible roots. A successful blend of everyday practicality, style, and riding performance – in keeping with British motorcycle tradition.
