On June 19, 2020, a small Cafe Racer came onto the market, showing a completely new retro style for Aprilia. In europe, however, the model is not sold.
The model was developed by Zongshen Piaggio Foshan Motorcycle, a joint venture between Piaggio and Zongshen. It is to be offered exclusively on the Chinese market.
The basis is the Aprilia CR150, which has been fitted with a retro-design fairing. The 150cc single-cylinder engine produces 18 hp and has a six-speed gearbox. Uneven roads are swallowed by an upside-down fork at the front and two shock absorbers at the rear.
Despite its retro style, it is equipped with a digital display and ABS.
Aprilia is actually not known for making retro-style motorcycles. Maybe they want to go a new way in the future and bring a similar model to the European market !? It would surely find some fans.
