The Motorcycle Race of Macau 2019 had to be stopped twice with red flag. In total, only six of the twelve scheduled laps were driven. There was no race winner.

At the time of the first crash, Peter Hickman was leading on his BMW S 1000 RR with a gap of seven seconds. In the Esses Robert Hodson crashed, BMW brand colleague Marek Cerveny could not avoid and crashed also.
A large amount of fuel spread off the track, which had to be removed first. The race was therefore interrupted for about 20 minutes.
After the restart Honda driver Michael Rutter briefly took the lead, but Hickman then went past him again.
In the sixth round, in the Police curve was a mass crash. Daniel Kruger, Didier Grams, Erno Kostamo, Michael Sweeney Phillip Crowe and Derek Shiels were involved. Because of the setting sun, there was no time to start the race again. Considerations to restart the race on Sunday were discarded because the teams had no tires available for another race (the regulations allowed only a certain number of sets of tires) and the tight schedule for Sunday that would not have made possible.
Since the motorcycle race in Macau did not complete three laps in a row, the race ended without an official race winner. The regulations stipulate that at least three complet laps must be driven in one go so that the race can be scored.
According to media reports, the drivers Kruger, Kostamo and Shiels were taken to the hospital. All were conscious and should not have sustained life-threatening injuries.
