29th Harley-Davidson Charity Tour Austria – 2026
When the unmistakable sound of hundreds of heavy Harleys echoes through Austria’s valleys and over mountain passes, it’s that time again: The Harley-Davidson Charity Tour (HDCT) rolls across the Alpine republic for the 29th time. From August 12 to 16, 2026, over 200 riders will travel under the motto “Loud for the Quiet – Strong for the Weak” through eight federal states, collecting donations for people with muscular diseases at numerous stops along the way.
Route and Overnight Stops 2026
The tour traditionally starts in the greater Vienna area and covers some of Austria’s most beautiful regions over five days:
- Wednesday, August 12: Tour start in greater Vienna – overnight in Bad Radkersburg (Styria)
- Thursday, August 13: Through Carinthia – overnight in Schladming (Styria)
- Friday, August 14: Through the Salzburg region – overnight in Maria Alm at the Steinernes Meer
- Saturday, August 15: Through Upper Austria – overnight in Ried im Innkreis
- Sunday, August 16: Finale and donation announcement
At each stop, town squares transform into festival grounds with live music, regional cuisine, and prominent supporters encouraging donations.
Nearly Three Decades for a Good Cause
Since 1996, the HDCT has shown that motorcycles stand not only for freedom and adventure, but also for heart, humanity, and hope. The tour is organized by the Harley-Davidson Charity Fund Austria under the leadership of President Dieter Baier and founder Ferdinand O. Fischer.
All donations go towards supporting people with muscular diseases – in cooperation with the emergency aid fund of Licht ins Dunkel (Light into Darkness), affected families receive fast and unbureaucratic help. During the 28th tour in August 2025 alone, 331,000 euros were raised.
How to Participate
The Charity Tour is open to all Harley-Davidson riders. Pre-registration via hdct.at is required, and spots are limited. The organizer offers a hotel service with pre-reserved room blocks in all overnight cities.
