Manx Grand Prix – 2026

Manx Grand Prix 2026 on the Isle of Man
The Manx Grand Prix returns to the legendary Snaefell Mountain Course from 16 to 24 August 2026 – arguably the most famous road racing circuit in the world. Since 1923, the event has served as the stepping stone for aspiring road racers and is widely regarded as the first step towards competing at the Isle of Man TT. Organised by the Manx Motor Cycle Club (MMCC) in conjunction with the Department of Infrastructure and ACU Events, the Manx Grand Prix combines deep-rooted tradition with ambitious road racing competition.
The Course
The 37.73-mile (60.725 km) Mountain Course runs along public roads from Douglas through Ramsey and over the 2,034 ft (621 m) Snaefell Mountain back to the start at the Grandstand Area. With over 200 corners, narrow village passages, and elevation changes from sea level to over 1,300 ft, the course presents a unique challenge found nowhere else in motorsport. The Manx Grand Prix uses the same course as the legendary TT but caters to amateur and up-and-coming riders looking to earn their stripes for a future TT entry.
Classes and Programme
The race programme comprises multiple classes for different motorcycle types and engine capacities. The first practice week begins on Saturday, 16 August, with practice sessions on the Mountain Course. Race week culminates on Monday, 24 August, the final race day. Running alongside the Manx Grand Prix is the Classic TT (19–28 August), where experienced riders and former TT winners compete on historic machinery.
The Isle of Man as a Destination
The Isle of Man sits in the Irish Sea between England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. The self-governing British Crown Dependency is accessible by ferry from Liverpool, Heysham and Belfast, as well as by air. Beyond motorsport, the island offers spectacular coastal scenery, the historic steam railway, Victorian architecture in Douglas, and the famous Laxey Wheel – the world’s largest surviving waterwheel.
