Fellows Ride Kelheim in the Altmühl Valley – 2026

Fellows Ride Kelheim – Motorcyclists Rally for Mental Health Awareness
On August 22, 2026, the Fellows Ride rolls through Kelheim in the Altmühl Valley in Lower Bavaria, Germany. Under the motto “Ride with an Open Visor for Depression Awareness,” motorcyclists come together to take a stand against the stigmatization of mental illness and to help reduce the suicide rate in Germany.
What Is the Fellows Ride?
The Fellows Ride is a nationwide initiative that has been organizing peaceful motorcycle demonstrations in an ever-growing number of cities and regions since 2021. The core idea is simple: riders of all brands and classes join together for a group ride to raise awareness about depression. Donations go directly to regional health projects dedicated to helping people affected by depression. The initiative was founded by Dieter Schneider, Peter Grethler, and Karl Miller, and is now supported by the Foundation Depression-Inclusion established by Thomas Lurz and Dieter Schneider.
The Route Through the Altmühl Valley
Details about the start, destination, route, and specific charity cause will be announced on the official Fellows Ride website and via their newsletter as soon as they are finalized. Police escort the demonstration and ensure a clear road. The Fellows Ride Kelheim takes participants through one of Bavaria’s most scenic regions — the Altmühl Valley with its Jurassic limestone cliffs, river valleys, and historic towns surrounding the district capital of Kelheim on the Danube.
How to Participate
Every motorcycle enthusiast is welcome to join — regardless of brand, engine size, or experience level. It’s not about the bike, it’s about the cause. Participation is free. Those who wish to donate can do so on-site or online via betterplace.org. All donations go directly to regional projects supporting people with depression.
Fellows Ride 2026 – Over 30 Cities Worldwide
The Fellows Ride Kelheim is part of a growing movement: in 2026, Fellows Rides take place in more than 30 cities and regions — from Berlin, Munich, and Vienna to the United States. What began as a small ride in Würzburg has grown into one of the most significant charity motorcycle initiatives in the German-speaking world.
