Lone Star Rally – 2026

The Largest Motorcycle Rally in Texas
The Lone Star Rally returns to Galveston, Texas from November 5 to 8, 2026 – four days of motorcycle culture transforming the historic island city on the Gulf of Mexico into the biker capital of the American South. Since its founding in 2001 by Bill Bader Sr., the Lone Star Rally has grown into one of the largest motorcycle events in North America, attracting approximately 400,000 visitors and over 150,000 motorcycles to the Texas coastal city each year, putting it in the same league as the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and Daytona Bike Week.
Events and Attractions
The rally grounds span two main areas: the historic Strand District with its Victorian-era brick buildings and the six-mile-long Seawall Boulevard along the Gulf of Mexico. National and regional bands perform on multiple stages, including the Progressive Stage on the Seawall and the Miller Lite Stage in the Strand District.
The event program includes:
- The Cycle Source Ride In Custom Bike Show – one of the most prestigious custom bike exhibitions in the USA
- Rodeo Games – where Texan rodeo tradition meets biker culture
- Miss Lone Star Rally – the official beauty pageant of the rally
- VICLA Cruise and Photoshoot – featuring legendary motorcycle photographer Michael Lichter
- Sound Competition – who has the loudest machine?
- Tattoo Contest – the best body art wins
- Drive In Car Show – classic automobiles are welcome too
- Show n Shine Cruise along the Seawall Boulevard
Charity and Community
A defining aspect of the Lone Star Rally is its strong commitment to charitable causes. The event supports numerous organizations serving veterans and first responders, including Mission 22, an organization dedicated to preventing suicide among military veterans. The biker community uses the rally as a platform to raise awareness for those who have served their country.
Galveston as a Rally Destination
Galveston is situated on a barrier island in the Gulf of Mexico, approximately 50 miles southeast of Houston. The city combines historic charm – the Strand District was known as the “Wall Street of the South” in the 19th century – with beach atmosphere and mild November weather. November temperatures typically range between 59 and 72 degrees Fahrenheit (15–22 °C), ideal for outdoor events. Access is via Interstate 45 and the Galveston Causeway; the nearest major airport is Houston George Bush Intercontinental (IAH).
