WorldSBK – Italy – Cremona – 2026

WorldSBK at the Cremona Circuit – the Italian Round of the 2026 Superbike World Championship
From September 25 to 27, 2026, the Cremona Circuit hosts the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship for Round 10 of the season. Located in the Lombardy region of Italy’s Po Valley, the circuit has been part of the WorldSBK calendar since 2024, bringing the Superbike World Championship to a region that previously had no permanent fixture in the international motorsport calendar. For Italian fans, Cremona offers a welcome second home round alongside Misano – and for the teams, a technically demanding challenge on a still relatively new circuit.
Track and Character
The Cremona Circuit measures 3.768 km in length and features 13 corners – six right-handers and seven left-handers. The anti-clockwise circuit was opened in 2011 and upgraded in 2023 for use in the Superbike World Championship. The track layout combines a 400-metre start-finish straight with an 885-metre back straight running alongside Lombardy’s rice fields and technically demanding corner combinations.
Particularly challenging is the section around Turns 4, 5, and 6, where a lack of visual reference points makes braking difficult, as well as the San Martino corkscrew chicane in the rear section of the track. The relatively flat circuit in the Po Valley ensures even tyre wear but places special demands on the aerodynamic efficiency of the Superbikes on the long straights.
Racing Programme
The WorldSBK weekend at the Cremona Circuit features the full programme of the Superbike World Championship:
- WorldSBK – 3 races (Race 1 on Saturday, Superpole Race and Race 2 on Sunday)
- WorldSSP – 2 races of the Supersport World Championship
- WorldWCR – 2 races of the FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship
- Yamaha R3 BLU CRU World Cup – Support cup for young riders
History and Significance
The Cremona Circuit was awarded a five-year contract for the Superbike World Championship in October 2023 and celebrated its WorldSBK debut in 2024. The addition of the circuit to the calendar is part of the Dorna WSBK Organization’s strategy to open up new markets and bring the championship to regions that previously had no access to international motorsport at the highest level. Lombardy, with its strong motorcycle industry – Ducati, MV Agusta, and numerous suppliers have their headquarters or significant operations here – provides a perfect environment for the Superbike World Championship.
With Ducati’s dominant presence in WorldSBK, established stars like Toprak Razgatlıoğlu and Álvaro Bautista, and emerging talents challenging at the front, the 2026 Italian Round at the Cremona Circuit promises thrilling racing on Italian soil once again.

Cremona and Lombardy as a Travel Destination
The Cremona Circuit is located near San Martino del Lago, approximately 25 km east of the city of Cremona in Lombardy’s Po Valley. The city of Cremona is world-famous as the birthplace of violin making – Antonio Stradivari, Giuseppe Guarneri, and Andrea Amati created their legendary instruments here. The Museo del Violino, the Romanesque cathedral with its Torrazzo (the tallest brick tower in Europe), and the medieval Piazza del Comune are among the city’s highlights.
The best access is via the A21 motorway (Brescia–Piacenza) or by train to Cremona with a subsequent transfer to the circuit. Milan Linate (90 km), Milan Malpensa (150 km), and Bergamo Orio al Serio (80 km) international airports offer the best connections for international visitors.
