Honda Turkiye A.S. has decided to build a new motorcycle production facility in Aliaga near Izmir. The aim is to support the growth of the Turkish motorcycle market and increase global sales of Honda motorcycles.

The COVID-19 pandemic led to increased demand for individual means of transport and motorcycles for commercial purposes such as delivery services. This has caused the Turkish motorcycle market to grow significantly. In 2024, Honda Turkiye achieved a new sales record with a total of 162,000 motorcycles sold.

Production at the new factory is scheduled to start in mid-2026. Initially, an annual capacity of 100,000 motorcycles is planned, which will later be expanded to 200,000 units. The total investment for the plant, including machinery and equipment, amounts to approximately US$20 million (approx. €19 million). The construction of the factory is expected to create around 300 jobs. With this investment, Honda Turkiye is pursuing the goal of strengthening local production and promoting the development of the motorcycle industry in the country. The focus will be on high-quality, affordable, and attractive products.

Honda Turkiye A.S. – Key data

Its capital amounts to 180 million Turkish lira (approximately 9 million euros). The president is Satoru Yamada.
