On February 5, Suzuki will present new models at its virtual trade show in addition to its lineup for 2021. Among them a new Hayabusa. Now a first alleged picture of the new Busa has surfaced.
The image comes from the Instagram page hayabusa_taiwan, and it looks like it was photographed from a magazine or brochure. However, there is no exact information about the origin of the image, so you also have to take it with a grain of salt.
Aerodynamic double fairing
If the picture is genuine, then the basic shape of the fairing has been retained. Looking at the side fairing, it looks like there are struts incorporated there, which in turn could indicate a double fairing like on the Aprilia RS 660. When you consider that the Hayabusa has always been a high-horsepower motorcycle that also delivered extreme top speed, a double fairing that improves aerodynamics and provides more downforce at the front makes perfect sense.
Of course, the mighty rear silencer also catches the eye, necessitated by increasingly stringent emissions regulations.
How much power?
What is hidden under the fairing is still questionable. Lately, rumors have been talking about a 1,400cc four-cylinder. A thick electronics package should also deliver the new Hayabusa. In the teaser, a lean angle indicator can be seen in the cockpit. Therefore, one can expect that the assistance systems also take the lean angle into account.
