This year’s Macau Grand Prix was a spectacular event, especially for fans of the BMW M 1000 RR.  Led by Peter Hickman, who scored a remarkable fourth victory, the BMW racers dominated the field on the challenging Guia Circuit.

Outstanding performance by Peter Hickman

Peter Hickman, an experienced racer of the FHO Racing BMW Motorrad Team, showed his class on the Guia Circuit.  After an impressive performance in the practice laps and taking pole position, Hickman confirmed his role as favorite in the race.  Despite a restart after a red flag on the first lap, Hickman retained the lead and finished the race with a clear lead of almost 29 seconds over his nearest rival.

Strong performance from Davey Todd and David Datzer

Davey Todd and David Datzer, also on BMW M 1000 RR, completed the podium with their impressive performances.  Todd, who struggled with technical difficulties, showed a remarkable recovery after the restart.  Datzer, who fell back after a poor start, fought his way back to the front and secured third place, an impressive performance for the Bavarian in his second appearance in Macau.

Recognition from Uwe Geyer

Uwe Geyer, Head of BMW Motorrad Customer Racing, praised the exceptional performance of the BMW riders.  The quadruple victory underlines BMW’s dominance in this prestigious race.

Summary

The 2023 Macau Grand Prix was an outstanding event for the BMW Motorrad team.  Led by Peter Hickman, the BMW racers put in a dominant performance on the demanding Guia Circuit.  With an impressive quadruple victory, the team proved its superiority in one of the world’s most demanding road races.
