Ultraviolet X47 Crossover: New generation of electric adventure bikes unveiled

With the new X47 Crossover, Ultraviolette is expanding its model portfolio with an electric adventure bike that, according to the manufacturer, is designed to cover several different uses. The Indian brand is positioning the model as “three motorcycles in one,” appealing to riders who want to ride both on and off the beaten track. The design is based on classic dual-sport models, such as the Suzuki DR650S, Honda’s XL470V Transalp, and the Kawasaki KLR.

Focus on ergonomics and technology

The Ultraviolet X47 Crossover features a more comfortable and upright seating position, combined with a longer suspension and off-road tires. The design is based on robust adventure bikes, but differs significantly from the manufacturer’s previous road models. The usage profile is designed for 60 percent road and 40 percent off-road.

Technologically, the new model stands out in its segment. With its Hypersense system, the X47 is reportedly the first motorcycle in its class to offer advanced radar technology. This includes blind spot assist, lane change assist, and rear traffic collision warning. In the event of an impending collision, the system is designed to increase the attention of the vehicle behind by flashing indicators.

Dashcam, displays, and driver assistance systems

Another feature is two 1080p resolution dashcams at the front and rear, whose live images can be viewed on a dual display. This is complemented by a classic TFT display for the usual cockpit information. The X47 offers four-stage traction control, which can also be completely deactivated, as well as a switchable two-channel ABS. The recuperation brake is adjustable in nine stages. The Dynamic Stability Control System ensures that the ABS and recuperation brake communicate with each other to prevent the rear wheel from locking up during heavy braking.

Technical data and battery

Few details were given about the chassis during the presentation. However, a ByBre brake system was visible. The suspension travel appears to have been significantly extended compared to previous Ultraviolette models, but exact details are not available.

Power is supplied by a battery system already familiar from the F77, but optimized for use in the adventure sector. The range is said to be up to 323 km (approx. 200 miles). Particularly noteworthy is the quick-charging system installed under the seat with an output of up to 1.6 kW, which the manufacturer advertises as “the most powerful air-cooled charger in its class.” This eliminates the need to carry an external charger.

Performance and price

The X47 has an output of 38 hp (approx. 28 kW) and is designed to comply with A2 regulations. The maximum torque at the rear wheel is specified as 610 Nm (approx. 449 lb-ft). It sprints to 64 km/h (40 mph) in under three seconds and reaches 97 km/h (60 mph) in around 8.1 seconds.

The model is expected to cost around £2,000 (approx. €2,330 or $2,450) in India. However, it can be assumed that the price in Europe and the UK will be higher. Delivery of the X47 will start in October 2025. Pre-orders have been possible since September 23, 2025, at 4 p.m. via the manufacturer’s website.
