From concept to revolution

In 2013, the MT-09 entered the stage of the motorcycle world after the CP3 three-cylinder engine concept debuted a year earlier.  This motorcycle, which had dark and mysterious elements in both its aesthetics and performance, brought a breath of fresh air to the motorcycling landscape.  Not only was it a new model, but it also heralded (according to Yamaha) the beginning of a hyper naked revolution that would shape the industry in the years to follow.

Design and style: an evolutionary approach

Over the past decade, Yamaha has continued to evolve the MT-09.  For 2024, the company has again revised the design, focusing on combining intelligence and style.  The bike features even more aggressive and edgy styling, complemented by the use of the latest technologies.  Particular attention was paid to the design of the bodywork, which offers riders greater freedom of movement.  Inspired by the motocross bikes of the Yamaha YZ range, the MT-09’s styling concept has been further refined to place even greater emphasis on functionality and beauty.

Lights, tank and sound: details that count

The redesign of the MT-09 is also evident in other elements of the motorcycle.  A redesigned LED headlight and LED taillights offer not only a modern look but also improved visibility.  The fuel tank, a key element of any motorcycle, has also been redesigned for a more dynamic riding position and edgier appearance.  The MT-09’s distinctive sound remains a hallmark of the bike, with Yamaha revising the airbox to make the sound more intense and impressive.

Technology and ergonomics: at the heart of the riding experience.

Yamaha has not only changed the exterior appearance of the MT-09, but also improved the technology and ergonomics.  A new 5-inch TFT color display, smartphone connectivity and various riding modes are just some of the technologies that enrich the riding experience.  In addition, a revised seating position, combined with other ergonomic improvements such as redesigned footpegs and an adjustable handlebar position, allows for a more personalized and comfortable ride.

Safety and control: for the ultimate riding experience

The MT-09 aims to set new standards not only in design and technology, but also in safety.  An advanced 6-axis IMU system, improved braking system and third-generation quickshifter are just a few of the features designed to make this bike one of the safest and most controllable on the market.

Colors, availability and price

The MT-09 is offered in three colors: Midnight Cyan, Icon Blue and Tech Black, which should suit any taste.  Additionally, there will be a 35 kW version.  Deliveries will start as early as February 2024. Nothing has been announced about the price yet.
