With the Fellows Ride, a nationwide motorcycle movement is coming to the Saxon metropolis of Leipzig for the first time. The aim of the event is to raise public awareness of mental health issues and to take a stand against the silence surrounding psychological stress.
Motorcycle parade through Leipzig with a clear message
On May 30, 2026, Leipzig city center will be transformed into a meeting place for around 100 motorcyclists. From there, the group will set off on a ride through the region. The ride is based on the international motto “Ride Don’t Hide” and aims to promote openness in dealing with mental health crises.
Thousands of motorcyclists in more than 30 cities are already involved in the initiative. Leipzig is now joining them as another location. The central message is: don’t hide, don’t remain silent, but look and talk to each other.
The organizer’s personal motivation
The initiator of the Leipzig Fellows Ride is Peggy Renger, who goes by the name “Stressdoktor” (stress doctor). Her commitment is based on her own story. She talks about periods of overload and inner pressure that pushed her to her personal limits.
“There were moments when I myself didn’t know how to go on. That’s exactly why I know today how important it is to talk about it,” she says.
The event is organized on a voluntary basis. According to her own statements, she does not see the ride as a marketing measure, but as a social cause. The aim is to encourage people and clearly show that no one has to face their challenges alone.
Her motto is: “Burnout doesn’t belong in life – if anywhere, it belongs on the asphalt.” Or, in other words: “Burnout? Only on the asphalt.”
Sachsenring supports with fundraising campaign
An additional element of the Leipzig initiative is a fundraising campaign at the Sachsenring. On May 13, 2026, the traditional race track will be open free of charge to motorcycles of all brands and cars.
Participants will have the opportunity to drive on the course and collect donations for the initiative. The aim is to combine motorsport and social engagement.
Film screening as an emotional kick-off
In the run-up to the event, the documentary film “Ride Don’t Hide” will be shown in Leipzig. The screening will take place on April 22, 2026, at BoneoFarm Leipzig. A discussion is planned afterwards, which will serve as a thematic kick-off for the Ride.
The film documents the emergence of the movement and explores the background of the initiative.
Companies as partners of the initiative
In addition to private participants, the Fellows Ride is also aimed at companies. Opportunities for support include sponsorship, presence on the day of the event, or participation in pre-events. The aim is to set an example of social responsibility and an open approach to mental health.
A motorcycle event with a social focus
The Fellows Ride Leipzig 2026 sees itself as a motorcycle event with a clear social focus. The combination of a joint ride, public presence, and accompanying activities is intended to raise awareness of an issue that often remains hidden.
