The one or other Smart or Trabi was already equipped with motorcycle engines. Building a car engine into a motorcycle is already more rare. No reason not to do it and also to put a fat turbo on it!?
2.4 liter minivan engine in a motorcycle
Ben Robertson is an Australian hobbyist. He’s had a lot of fun with his Honda K24 engine, and not just when it was in the Odyssey minivan. He’s currently in the process of putting two of the engines on a boat. On his YouTube channel “Snail TV” you can follow his crazy projects, including a Hayabusa kart.
He is currently building the Odyssey engine into a motorcycle and adding a turbo. The choice was a Honda CBR1000F Hurricane. The 998cc 135 hp inline four had to give way to make room for the 2.4 liter K24 engine. In the run-up, the frame was lengthened.
The goal: over 1,000 hp
Since Ben’s stock 187-200 hp minivan engine wasn’t enough, it had to be upgraded with a Garrett GT47 turbocharger. Since there was no more room for it in the bike, it was simply flanged to the side. He expects it to produce a good 1,000 hp at the rear wheel.
Originally, the project was planned as a street and drag bike, but if you look at the design, it doesn’t seem particularly streetable.
