Suzuki had already attracted attention with new model announcements for the 2026 season, but is keeping its regular program largely stable. Instead of comprehensive model updates, the manufacturer is now focusing on exclusive special editions, which were presented by the Austrian national organization. A total of four variants are to be offered there, some in very limited numbers and with a clear focus on design or touring use.
GSX-8S Blue Flash and Red Flash: Limited edition roadsters with additional package
The Suzuki GSX-8S is available in Austria in two special editions. Both variants are based on the well-known series model and differ mainly in terms of appearance and equipment.
GSX-8S Blue Flash
The Blue Flash features classic Suzuki colors. The paintwork combines blue, yellow, and black, complemented by special graphics that extend across the fairing and rims. The aim is to create a striking, sporty look.
Several extras have been added to the standard equipment. A short Akrapovic silencer, LED turn signals, and a seat cover are installed. The Blue Flash is limited to only ten units. The price is €11,490, equivalent to around $12,400. Compared to the series model, this represents a surcharge of around €1,500.
GSX-8S Red Flash
The Red Flash takes a different visual approach. Here, a matte metallic black paint finish is paired with red rims and understated but contrasting graphics in silver and red. This model also features the Akrapovic silencer, LED turn signals, and a seat cover.
Like the Blue Flash, the Red Flash is also limited to ten vehicles. The price is €11,490, which is also around $12,400. The limited edition and identical equipment package make both GSX-8S special models visually different variants.
V-Strom 800 X-Tour: Touring focus in small series
With the V-Strom 800 X-Tour, Suzuki is specifically targeting touring riders. The special model is based on the road-oriented version of the V-Strom 800 and remains technically unchanged. It continues to be powered by the 776 cm³ parallel twin with a 270-degree crankshaft, which delivers 84 hp at the corresponding speed and 78 Nm of torque. This corresponds to around 62 kW.
The chassis, brake system, and electronics are also the same as the standard model. These include traction control, ABS, a TFT color display, and a USB charging socket. The seat height is 825 mm, which makes the X-Tour more accessible than the more off-road-oriented DE variant.
The focus of the X-Tour is clearly on additional equipment. Standard features include an aluminum luggage system with side cases and top case, matching carriers, hand guards, and engine protection. Visually, the model stands out with its matte black base coat with yellow accents and topographical decor.
The V-Strom 800 X-Tour is limited to just five units. The price is €12,990, equivalent to around $14,000. The surcharge compared to the base model is around €1,300.
DR-Z4SM Crush: Styling kit instead of classic special model
The DR-Z4SM Crush occupies a special status. It is not a limited edition complete vehicle, but an optional decorative kit. The DR-Z4SM thus gains an additional color variant, which is characterized by a striking design reminiscent of paint splashes. A shiny, iridescent blue is used, which clearly stands out from the previous look.
The Crush kit is not limited and is available at any time. The surcharge is 750 euros, which is equivalent to approximately 810 US dollars. There are no technical changes associated with the package.
Availability outside Austria unclear
All of the special editions presented are currently intended exclusively for the Austrian market. It is unclear whether individual variants will also be offered in other countries at a later date. In the past, comparable Austrian special models have remained limited to their home market. Although there have been exceptions, such as earlier V-Strom special editions from Italy, an expansion of the range is considered rather unlikely.
What does this mean for me as a motorcyclist?
For motorcyclists, these special models primarily offer additional choice without any technical compromises. Suzuki does not modify the engines or chassis, but combines well-known models with clearly defined equipment packages or striking visuals. Those who value individuality and prefer a vehicle ex works with accessories such as a luggage system, silencer, or special paintwork will find a ready-made solution here without the need for retrofitting. At the same time, it is important to be aware that the severe limitations make access difficult and that the models are in fact only available to a small group of buyers. If you are traveling outside Austria, it also remains unclear whether and when these variants will be available at all.
