A2-compliant four-cylinder performance without compromise
The GSX-S950 remains a special feature on the market: it is the only naked bike with a four-cylinder engine that is offered in A2-compliant form as standard and without a throttle kit. The power output is exactly 48 hp (35 kW) and the maximum torque is a powerful 76 Nm at 3,250 rpm. Suzuki has thus achieved a balancing act between accessible power delivery and genuine riding pleasure – especially in the low to medium speed range.
The engine is based on the high-performance unit derived from the GSX-R1000, which in the case of the GSX-S950 has been adapted for use on the road. If you have a class A driving license, you can have the engine converted to the open version by a specialist workshop. In this case, 95 hp (69.8 kW) is available at 6,500 rpm, with the high torque ensuring superior acceleration. In both power levels, the engine meets the Euro 5+ standard.
Electronic assistance systems as standard
The Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.) provides the naked bike with a range of useful assistance systems. These include the three-stage traction control system (STCS), which can be adjusted or completely deactivated depending on the riding style or weather conditions.
Other features such as Suzuki Low RPM Assist make it easier for novice drivers in particular to start off at low engine speeds. The Suzuki Clutch Assist System (SCAS) reduces the effort required when clutching, while the Easy Start System enables the starting process at the simple push of a button – without having to pull the clutch lever.
Chassis and braking system: agility meets control
The torsion-resistant aluminum frame in combination with high-quality suspension elements ensures driving dynamics. At the front, a 43 mm upside-down fork from KYB is used, which responds in a sporty and firm manner. A central suspension strut with adjustable spring preload and compression damping is fitted at the rear.
The braking system impresses with four-piston monobloc brake callipers from Tokico and floating brake discs with a diameter of 310 mm at the front. A modern ABS system is also fitted as standard and provides support in changing traction conditions.
Ergonomics and design: comfort meets streetfighter look
With a seat height of just 810 mm, the GSX-S950 remains easy to control even for shorter riders. The upright but slightly forward-leaning riding position behind the wide superbike handlebars ensures an active riding experience.
The design is based on modern streetfighters – striking lines, angular fairing elements and aggressively designed LED headlights create visual highlights. The appearance is complemented by the new decals: “Metallic Mat Sword Silver” (CSX) with blue accents and “Glass Sparkle Black” (YVB), which emphasizes the urban look.
Price and availability
The Suzuki GSX-S950 is now available from German dealers. The starting price is €11,100 (approx. $12,000; RRP ex works, plus ancillary costs).
