Ducati traditionally stands for a combination of technology and design that transcends the boundaries of pure functionality. The inspiration: Panigale V4 Tricolore Italia
The artwork is based on the Panigale V4 Tricolore Italia, a limited and numbered special edition that was presented in March 2025 at the Italian Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy. The model, of which only 163 exist, pays homage to the traditional Azzurro of the Italian national teams. It was with this very paint job that Ducati took first and second place at the 2024 Grand Prix in Mugello.
Crespi’s work was reproduced on canvas on a 1:1 scale. It captivates with a complex network of blue lines that, without crossing, create optical illusions of movement and depth. The representation gives the idea of speed a new, almost tangible artistic dimension.
Limited edition lithographs for collectors
In addition to the canvas, a limited series of 163 lithographs was created, exclusively reserved for owners of the Panigale V4 Tricolore Italia. Each lithograph is numbered, signed by Crespi, and bears the same serial number as the respective motorcycle. This creates a unique connection between the artwork and the machine.
Andrea Crespi: Digital illusions and artistic depth
Andrea Crespi, one of the most promising voices on the young Italian art scene, is known for his works that merge physical and digital realities. His installations have been exhibited internationally, including at the Triennale di Milano, the CAFA Art Museum in Beijing, the Times Square Gallery in New York, and Art Dubai. His optical illusions feature motifs that change their effect depending on the viewing angle or medium—an approach that fits perfectly with Ducati’s dynamic philosophy.
Ducati’s art journey continues
The collaboration with Crespi is not Ducati’s first project in a cultural context. Previous works include “Fortitudo Mea Levitate,” a marble sculpture from Acquabianca inspired by the design of the Panigale. Ducati was also represented at Arte Fiera 2024 and 2025, including the Officina Arte Ducati Award for young artists. At Design Week 2024 and 2025, Ducati presented, among other things, the exhibition “Forma – Feelings designed by Ducati in Borgo Panigale” and a joint event with Lamborghini to unveil the Panigale V4 Lamborghini. Most recently, the Panigale V4 was also part of the Fondazione Golinelli’s exhibition “From Origin to Destiny,” which focused on speed as an evolutionary force.
