BMW Motorrad France has unveiled two new special variants of the F 900 R and F 900 XR at the Salon du 2 Roues in Lyon. Both models feature exclusive paintwork that has not previously been available in the motorcycle range. The color schemes are drawn from the BMW M car lineup and are intended to visually enhance the mid-range series. Following last year’s Dark Editions of the F 900 GS and R 1300 GS, BMW France is once again offering market-exclusive special editions.
Frozen Grey and Aurelius Green: Colors from the M World
The BMW F 900 R is offered in Frozen Grey, a color from the BMW M car program. For the F 900 XR, BMW France has chosen the Aurelius Green shade. According to BMW Motorrad France, Aurelius Green is an exclusive paintwork that is “normally reserved only for the M 1000 XR.” Both variants are available exclusively on the French market.
Technical Basis Remains Unchanged
The special editions feature no changes to the mechanical specifications. Both the F 900 R and F 900 XR are powered by the familiar 895 cc twin-cylinder engine. The inline motor produces 105 hp (77 kW) at 8,500 rpm and delivers a maximum torque of 93 Nm at 6,750 rpm.
Optional Accessories in Matching Colors
BMW offers matching accessories for both special editions. For the F 900 R in Frozen Grey, a tinted windshield, seat cover, and engine guard are available in the respective paint color. The F 900 XR in Aurelius Green can also be fitted with a tall, tinted windshield and a color-matched engine guard.
Prices and Availability
The BMW F 900 R in Frozen Grey is offered in France at a price of 9,500 euros (approx. 11,220 US dollars). The F 900 XR in Aurelius Green is priced at 12,200 euros (approx. 14,400 US dollars). Both models are currently on display at the Salon du 2 Roues in Lyon, which runs from February 26 to March 1. Whether similar special variants are planned for other markets is not known.
