This Sunday (June 28th, 2020) the Ducati factory driver crashed during a motocross session in his Italian homeland.
He is said to be operated on in Mondena that evening. Only two weeks before the start of the MotoGP season, the injury is very unfavorable.
Dovizioso took part in a regional motocross championship run. After a jump he landed unhappily and lost the tail, which knocked him off the motorcycle. He landed exactly on the left shoulder, causing his collarbone to break.
An operation would not really be necessary, but to be on the safe side and not to jeopardize the MotoGP start (July 17-19), the decision was made to operate the fracture.
