WorldSBK – Spain – Jerez – 2026

WorldSBK Season Finale at the Circuito de Jerez – the Spanish Round of the 2026 Superbike World Championship
From October 16 to 18, 2026, the Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto hosts the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship for the twelfth and final round of the season. The season finale in Andalusian Jerez de la Frontera is the climax of the 2026 WorldSBK season – this is where the Superbike World Champion will be crowned. The legendary circuit in southern Spain provides the perfect setting for the season conclusion with its technically demanding layout, mild autumn climate, and passionate Spanish fans.
Track and Character
The Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto is 4.423 km long and features 13 turns – eight right-handers and five left-handers. The circuit opened in 1986 and sits in a shallow basin near the city of Jerez de la Frontera. It was renamed in 2018 after the legendary Spanish racer Ángel Nieto (1947–2017), a two-time 125cc World Champion.
The track layout is characterized by a 607-meter main straight that feeds into a heavy braking zone before Turn 1 – one of the classic overtaking spots in motorsport. The Dani Pedrosa hairpin (Turn 6) is another popular overtaking point, while the stadium section from Turns 9 to 13 brings spectators especially close to the action. The 28-meter elevation change and the mix of slow, medium, and fast corners make Jerez a versatile circuit that demands everything from both riders and engineers.
Warm conditions in October produce fast lap times and challenging tire management – a factor that has already led to surprising strategy changes and dramatic race outcomes in the past. The current WorldSBK Superpole record stands at 1:36.629, set by Nicolò Bulega in 2025.
Race Programme
The WorldSBK finale at the Circuito de Jerez features the complete Superbike World Championship programme:
- WorldSBK – 3 races (Race 1 on Saturday, Superpole Race and Race 2 on Sunday)
- WorldSSP – 2 races of the Supersport World Championship
- WorldWCR – 2 races of the FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship
- Yamaha R3 BLU CRU World Cup – Support cup for up-and-coming riders
History and Significance
Jerez has been one of the world’s most important motorsport venues for decades. MotoGP has raced here since 1987, and since 2019 the circuit has also been a permanent fixture on the WorldSBK calendar. As the season finale, the Spanish Round carries particular significance: World Championships have been decided here on multiple occasions, and the atmosphere in the packed grandstands is electrifying.
Spanish fans are renowned for their passion and expertise – Jerez offers a capacity of over 250,000 spectators, making it one of Europe’s largest motorsport arenas. The unique stadium architecture allows spectators to overlook large parts of the circuit from the grandstands.
With Ducati’s strong presence in WorldSBK, reigning Superpole record holder Nicolò Bulega, and a high-caliber rider lineup, the 2026 season finale in Jerez promises yet another dramatic title showdown on Andalusian soil.

Jerez and Andalusia as a Travel Destination
The Circuito de Jerez is located on the outskirts of Jerez de la Frontera, a city of around 210,000 inhabitants in the heart of Andalusia. Jerez is world-famous as the home of Sherry – the bodegas of González Byass (Tío Pepe), Lustau, and Osborne are among the most visited attractions. The city is also a centre of Flamenco and Andalusian equestrian culture: the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art and the famous Carthusian horses attract visitors from around the world.
The best way to arrive is via Jerez International Airport (XRY) with direct connections to many European cities, or via the larger Seville Airport (SVQ, approximately 90 km away). The AP-4 motorway connects Jerez with Seville and Cádiz. In October, the Costa de la Luz enjoys pleasant temperatures of 20–25°C with predominantly sunny weather – ideal conditions for a race weekend and a subsequent visit to the nearby Atlantic coast.
