- Three hand-painted anniversary models: Chief Vintage, Scout Bobber, and Indian Challenger
- Each motorcycle features a unique serial number
- Strictly limited global production: 250 (Chief Vintage), 450 (Scout Bobber), and 250 (Indian Challenger)
Indian Motorcycle was founded in 1901, making it one of the oldest motorcycle brands in the world. To celebrate its 125th anniversary, the American manufacturer has now unveiled a jubilee collection consisting of three special-edition models and an accompanying apparel line. All three motorcycles are strictly limited and hand-painted. The collection is intended to underscore the brand’s commitment to craftsmanship and design.
Hand-Painted Finish and Exclusive Details Across All Three Models
All models in the 125th Anniversary Collection feature a special color scheme called “125th Anniversary Red with Black Crystal.” The base paint consists of the classic Indian Motorcycle Red, enhanced with metallic micro-flakes to create a richer, more dynamic visual effect. Each motorcycle also features anniversary pinstriping with the ghosted inscription “ONE HUNDRED TWENTY-FIFTH ANNIVERSARY.” Due to the limited production numbers, every single vehicle carries a unique serial number.
Ola Stenegärd, Design Director at Indian Motorcycle, describes the collection: “This lineup represents the highest level of craftsmanship we’ve ever achieved. Every motorcycle was painstakingly designed and refined, not just to perform, but to tell a story.”
All three anniversary models come equipped as standard with Indian Motorcycle’s Touchscreen Display powered by the RIDE COMMAND+ system. The Scout and Chief feature a 101 mm (4-inch) color touchscreen display, while the Indian Challenger comes with a 178 mm (7-inch) touchscreen. Features include a vehicle locator, maintenance reminders, configurable gauges, detailed ride and vehicle information, and turn-by-turn navigation with connected services. Navigation and RIDE COMMAND features may vary by country.
Chief Vintage 125th Anniversary Edition: A Classic with the Thunderstroke 116
The Chief Vintage 125th Anniversary Edition builds on the iconic Chief lineage. The model blends classic design with modern technology, featuring a floating seat, wire wheels, vintage bars, and Indian Motorcycle’s signature valanced fenders. Power comes from the air-cooled Thunderstroke 116 engine, delivering 156 Nm (115 lb-ft) of torque. Only 250 units are expected to be available worldwide. Special equipment includes exclusive anniversary badges, an anniversary-stitched seat, the 101 mm RIDE COMMAND touchscreen display, and polished rider floorboards.
Indian Challenger 125th Anniversary Edition: The PowerPlus 112 from Racing
The Indian Challenger 125th Anniversary Edition is powered by the PowerPlus 112 engine, which is also used in professional racing in the “King of the Baggers” championship. The liquid-cooled V-twin features overhead cams and four valves per cylinder, delivering both high horsepower and high torque. A chassis-mounted fairing provides wind protection and a modern appearance.
Special equipment includes exclusive anniversary badges, an individually stitched two-up seat, the PowerBand Audio system, polished rider and passenger floorboards, and backlit switch cubes. Only 250 units are planned worldwide.
Limited Apparel Collection Complements the Anniversary Models
In addition to the three motorcycles, Indian Motorcycle has also introduced a limited apparel collection that reflects the color palette and design details of the anniversary models. The collection includes a leather jacket, a varsity jacket, a crewneck sweatshirt, men’s and women’s T-shirts, and a cap. Each piece features special anniversary graphics in the form of prints, embroidery, patches, and appliques to reflect the brand’s craftsmanship.
The entire apparel collection is available exclusively at select Indian Motorcycle dealerships in very limited quantities.
Pricing and Availability Still Open
Indian Motorcycle has not yet released pricing for the three anniversary models or the apparel collection. Specific launch dates for individual regions have not been communicated either. Interested riders are referred to their local Indian Motorcycle dealer. Further information is expected to be available at IndianMotorcycle.eu.
Mike Kennedy, CEO of Indian Motorcycle Company, puts the anniversary into perspective: “One hundred and twenty five years is a historic milestone and a true testament to the riders whose passion for the brand kept the spirit of Indian Motorcycle alive and remains our driving force to this day.”
