New SC-Project rear silencers for the Kawasaki Z900 (2025): More power, less weight

Kawasaki has further developed the Z900 for the 2025 model year, both technically and visually. The focus is particularly on its distinctive four-cylinder engine, which makes the naked bike one of the brand’s best-selling models. For riders who want to add extra flair, SC-Project offers four new rear silencers developed specifically for the 2025 version: CR-T, S1, SC1-R, and GP-M2. All four slip-on systems comply with the Euro 5+ emissions standard and, according to the manufacturer, can be easily installed without adjusting the engine software.

Four models for individual requirements

SC-Project CR-T: Significantly lighter and with honeycomb outlet

The CR-T rear silencer is available in titanium and carbon fiber versions. At 8,700 rpm, it increases engine power by 3.4 hp (2.5 kW) and torque by 3.9 Newton meters. This corresponds to approximately 3.4 hp | 2.5 kW | 8,700 rpm and 3.9 Nm | 7,700 rpm. The weight is more than 75 percent less than that of the original Kawasaki exhaust. Visually, the CR-T features a honeycomb-design outlet grille.

SC-Project S1: Handcrafted intermediate pipe and weight savings

The S1 is available in titanium and in a matte black titanium version. The system reduces weight by more than 60 percent and enables a power increase of approximately 3.1 hp (2.3 kW) at 10,700 rpm and an additional 2 Nm of torque. The values: 3.1 hp | 2.3 kW | 10,700 rpm and 2.0 Nm | 10,700 rpm. A handmade intermediate pipe is included in the scope of delivery.

SC-Project SC1-R: Asymmetrical outlet and hydroforming technology

The SC1-R is also available in both titanium and carbon fiber. The weight is reduced by more than 40 percent compared to the standard exhaust. According to the manufacturer, around 4.1 hp (3.0 kW) and 3.8 Nm are released at 7,700 rpm (4.1 hp | 3.0 kW | 7,700 rpm; 3.8 Nm | 7,700 rpm). A special feature is the asymmetrical outlet, which is manufactured using hydroforming.

SC-Project GP-M2: Classically round and 55 percent lighter

The GP-M2 rear silencer has a round carbon fiber housing with a CNC-milled outlet. It is 55 percent lighter than the corresponding Kawasaki component. At 7,700 rpm, power output increases by 3.2 hp (2.4 kW) and torque by 2.9 Nm (3.2 hp | 2.4 kW | 7,700 rpm; 2.9 Nm | 7,700 rpm).

Prices and availability

In Germany and Austria, the recommended retail prices for the CR-T start at €420 (approx. $458), the S1 starts at €490 (approx. $535), the SC1-R costs €660 (approx. $721), and the GP-M2 is available from €340 (approx. $370). The respective versions vary in terms of materials and features. In Switzerland, prices for the models range from CHF 460 to CHF 890.
