Dakar 2018 (Stage 1) – Report / Results

The Rally Dakar 2018 has begun. What happened in the first two stages you can find out now.

[sam id=”2″ codes=”true”]

The 2018 Dakar Rally begins with desert sand and dunes. The first stage already had it in itself, 272 km it went from Lima to Pisco. The race itself was only 31 km long. Last year’s overall winner of the motorcycle class Sam Sunderland was able to prevail here and won the stage with a lead of 33 seconds on Van Beveren.

Unfortunately, there were the first accidents here. The Portuguese Joaquim Rodrigues crashed and hit his face on the bike. He was flown by helicopter to the clinic and is already on the way to recovery. It also caught the German private driver Jürgen Drössiger. He rode onto another vehicle before the race, crashed and broke his arm. But these were not the only accidents or injuries.
