Connection between the brands
Christofer Ratcliffe, founder of Langen Motorcycles, explained the reasons behind this move: “Several team members at Langen have a professional background at CCM and are friends with current and former employees.” According to Ratcliffe, they were involved in the development of all CCM models between 2010 and 2020 and therefore have in-depth technical knowledge of these machines.
A dedicated area is currently being set up at Langen Motorcycles’ headquarters to deal exclusively with service and repair work on Spitfire and GP450 models. At the heart of these activities is Paul Atkinson, a central figure in the history of CCM. He worked for the brand in various roles for decades and will now devote himself exclusively to the concerns of Spitfire and GP450 owners at Langen.
Spare parts and mobile service secured
The rest of Langen’s staff will take care of administrative tasks and the procurement of spare parts. In addition, Langen’s mobile technician, “The Spitfire Surgeon,” will be supported with components and other resources so that he can also offer on-site service calls.

A look back at CCM
CCM (Clews Competition Machines) was founded in 1971 and was considered a fixture in British motorcycle manufacturing for decades. The brand was known for its handcrafted motorcycles and innovative concepts – most recently with the minimalist Spitfire series and the lightweight GP450 adventure bike. At the beginning of June 2025, insolvency was officially confirmed. A statement on social media said: “A legendary name in British motorcycle manufacturing, known for handcrafted machines and bold innovations, faces uncertain times. Our thoughts are with the employees, engineers, and fans of the brand. Let’s hope this doesn’t mean the end for CCM.”
