The picturesque setting of Madonna di Campiglio, also known as the “Pearl of the Dolomites”, provided the backdrop for the presentation of the Ducati Lenovo Team for the third time in a row.  The new Desmosedici GP25 was presented at the “Campioni in Pista” event, organized by Ducati in collaboration with Trentino Marketing and the Madonna di Campiglio tourist board.  It will be ridden by Francesco Bagnaia and Marc Márquez – a rider duo with a combined 11 world championship titles in various categories.

Review and outlook for the 2025 season

After a record year in 2024, in which Ducati won the Constructors’ and Teams’ titles as well as 13 race wins, the Italian manufacturer is also focusing on innovation and progress in the new season.  The design of the Desmosedici GP25 remains true to the classic Ducati red, combined with bright neon details that highlight the Ducati logo.  Technical improvements are intended to make the machine even more competitive.

For Bagnaia, who wears the number 63, this is his fifth season with Ducati.  After a challenging 2024 season, in which he set several records but did not win the title, he is looking to the new year with confidence.  New to the team is Marc Márquez, who is wearing the red Ducati colors for the first time with the number 93.  Márquez describes the switch as the “biggest challenge of his career” and is looking forward to working with his new team-mate.

Comments from the team management and partners

Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati Motor Holding, sees great potential in the new rider pairing: “Our goal of continuous improvement has guided our decisions for this season.  With Pecco, an experienced and successful rider, and Marc, whose talent and experience are undisputed, we have a team that will inspire the entire team.”

Luigi Dall’Igna, General Manager of Ducati Corse, emphasizes the successes of recent years: “After a record year, our goal is still to improve.  This becomes more difficult every year, but we are proud of our team and are convinced that we will remain competitive in the coming season.”

Luca Rossi, President of the Lenovo Intelligent Devices Group, also emphasized the close cooperation: “Ducati and Lenovo not only share a partnership, but also common values and goals.  With state-of-the-art technology, we will take performance to a new level in the 2025 season.”

The road to the new season

Preparations for the 2025 MotoGP season are already in full swing.  The first official tests are scheduled for February 5-7 in Sepang (Malaysia).  Ducati test rider Michele Pirro will be on track from January 31.

Away from the race track, the team showed itself to be close to the people: Bagnaia and Márquez met fans in the center of Madonna di Campiglio this afternoon.  In addition, a first official interview with the new rider duo is planned for January 22nd, which will be broadcast on Ducati’s YouTube channels.

Quotes from the riders

Bagnaia describes the new season as a challenge, but also sees the opportunities: “I’m looking forward to returning with the number 63.  2024 wasn’t my best year, but I learned a lot and set some records.  With Marc as my teammate, we can push the development of the bike even further.”

Márquez is motivated: “It’s exciting to wear the colors of the Ducati Lenovo Team.  My goal is to enjoy every ride, because I know that the rest will follow.  I’m looking forward to working with the team and the challenges that lie ahead.”

Outlook for the season

With a strong technical base and two of the most talented riders in MotoGP, Ducati will focus on continuity and innovation in 2025.  The competition is expected to be fierce, but Ducati is ready to face the challenges and continue its success story.
