The X4 Air is the lightest 8K 360° camera in the Insta360 range to date. With two 1/1.8-inch sensors and advanced image processing, it enables detailed 8K recordings and natural color reproduction. According to the manufacturer, the larger pixel area compared to the previous X4 model provides 134% improved image detail. AdaptiveTone, the company’s proprietary intelligent exposure algorithm, balances brightness and colors across the entire 360° image by analyzing the light from both lenses separately. Active HDR with up to 8K at 30 frames per second (fps) expands the dynamic range for realistic light and shadow areas, while portrait mode automatically recognizes faces and adjusts skin tones. Even in the dark, optimized algorithms and improved noise reduction ensure clear and detailed images.
Improved robustness and flexible application options
The X4 Air is not only compact, but also robustly designed. It features interchangeable lenses with a particularly durable optical coating. These are said to be twice as drop-resistant as the X4. Damaged lenses can be replaced in a matter of seconds. An optional lens protector can also be attached to prevent glare. The camera is waterproof to a depth of 15 meters and offers reliable image stabilization for almost any adventure with Insta360’s FlowState stabilization and 360° horizon lock.

Although the X5 is still considered the top model, the X4 Air integrates many of its features into a particularly handy housing. The app recognizes highlights, applies transitions, and synchronizes the footage with music. Through integration with brands such as Apple, Garmin, and HUAWEI, the X4 Air can synchronize position, movement, and performance data directly with the video recordings. For example, overlays for speed, location, or heart rate can be displayed. Users can thus enrich their activities with additional information and present the videos later with comprehensive data.
