Ducati continues partnership with Shell: a look into the future of motorcycle performance

Ducati and Shell have reaffirmed their long-standing partnership by extending their collaboration for a further three years. This decision underlines the strength and confidence in the joint development of lubricants for high performance engines. The partnership, which spans more than two decades, aims to further improve engine performance and enrich the riding experience for Ducati owners worldwide.

Comprehensive supply from Shell: from factory to dealer network

Shell remains the preferred supplier for Ducati, providing engine oils to its production facilities in Bologna, Italy, and Rayong, Thailand, as well as to an extensive dealer network. These networks span several key markets, including Italy, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Benelux, Spain, Portugal, the United States, Canada, China, Japan and Australia.

Innovation through racing: Ducati Corse Performance Oil

An outstanding product of this partnership is the Ducati Corse Performance Oil Powered by Shell Advance. This special engine oil, which has its roots in racing, was developed for models such as the Panigale V4, the Streetfighter V4 and the Multistrada RS. It is suitable for motorcycles with a dry clutch, either ex works or as a retrofit by Ducati Performance. This oil can be used from the first oil change and, according to Ducati, offers a remarkable increase in performance of up to 3.5 hp.

Comments on the partnership

Francesco Milicia, VP Sales and After Sales at Ducati Motor Holding, emphasizes the importance of technology transfer from racing to series production. The renewed partnership with Shell enables Ducati to continue the development of high-performance products and further increase motorcycle performance.

Aysun Akik, Vice President New Business Development and Global Key Accounts at Shell Lubricants, emphasizes the importance of the expanded collaboration. The 25-year relationship with Ducati reflects a shared commitment to bringing innovation from the racetrack to the road for the benefit of customers worldwide.

A success story continues

The partnership between Ducati and Shell began in 1999 in the Superbike World Championship and was later extended to MotoGP. It is considered one of the best-known and most successful partnerships in motorsport. Both Ducati’s motorcycles in MotoGP and the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati Team in the World Superbike Championship benefit from specially developed Shell Advance formulations based on the demanding conditions of racing.

This renewed partnership underlines Ducati and Shell’s shared commitment to pushing the boundaries of motorcycle performance and enhancing the riding experience for Ducatisti around the globe.
