The 2026 SuperMotocross season is over, and for Honda’s factory team that marks the start of an event that has become a fixed part of the calendar. For the third year in a row, Honda HRC Progressive has teamed up with the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (PBTF) at an SMX round. The bikes of the four factory riders carried a one-off design for the occasion. Those very parts are now going under the hammer. Fans from Europe can bid too.

What is Honda HRC auctioning in the SMX auction?
Up for auction are the white Cycra plastics the team used at the second round of the SuperMotocross series. All parts are signed by riders Hunter Lawrence, Jett Lawrence, Jo Shimoda and Chance Hymas.
The second round was the playoff race at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California. In total, the auction comprises 39 lots. They include front, left and right number plates, front and rear fenders, side panels and fork guards. On top of that there is a seat from Hunter Lawrence and four signed aprons from Progressive, the team’s title sponsor.
The parts from Jett and Hunter Lawrence come from the Honda CRF450R. Jo Shimoda and Chance Hymas rode the smaller CRF250R. Depending on the part, they were used in Playoff 1 or Playoff 2.
Anyone bidding should know one thing: according to the auction description, a large share of the plastics was raced. The parts may therefore show scratches and other signs of use. Their actual condition may differ from the promotional photos. There is one special case with Jett Lawrence. According to the description, his plastics kit at this race was intended for display only. For the aprons, the photos only show a template, and the actual item may differ.
How much do the signed Honda parts cost?
On Thursday morning, the displayed bids ranged from 30 to 350 US dollars (approx. 27 to 313 euros). The highest were the front number plates of Jett and Hunter Lawrence at 350 US dollars each.
They were followed by Jett Lawrence’s left number plate at 250 US dollars (approx. 224 euros) and Jo Shimoda’s front plate at 200 US dollars (approx. 179 euros). Jett Lawrence’s right plate stood at 180 US dollars (approx. 161 euros). Several side panels and number plates were at 150 US dollars (approx. 134 euros). Fenders and fork guards mostly hovered around 40 US dollars (approx. 36 euros). The aprons stood at 30 US dollars each.
The amounts may still rise considerably before the auction closes.

When does the auction end and how can you bid from Europe?
The auction closes on October 9, 2026 at 9 p.m. Eastern Time. In Germany, that is Saturday, October 10, at 3 a.m.
It opened on October 1. Bids are placed via the PBTF auction page on the fundraising platform GiveSmart. The foundation is based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. There is one restriction for bidders outside the USA. Because of the higher shipping costs, they have to pay for shipping themselves. The foundation will arrange the details with the winners after the auction closes.
What is the Imaginary Friends Society on the Honda graphics?
The Imaginary Friends Society is a group of cartoon characters created by the PBTF. It is meant to help children better understand difficult topics around cancer.
The characters are based on ideas from children. In a series of 20 short animated films, they explain, for example, what happens during an MRI scan or how to make the fear of injections smaller. The aim is to take away some of the children’s fear of treatment.
Each set of plastics from Carson features a different character from the group. The graphics were made by SKDA. The riders’ gear also carried the special design at the race. According to the organization, the riders knew their characters and understood what they mean to affected families.

What happened at the race weekend in Carson?
Alongside the special livery, the team welcomed PBTF families at the track. Patients and their relatives were invited to dinner in the factory team’s pit area on Friday evening.
There they met the riders in person. The program also included visits to the technical and hospitality trucks. On Saturday, the families then cheered the riders on during the race.
How long have Honda and the PBTF been working together?
Honda and the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation have been working together for around 35 years. It all started with the Ride for Kids program.
Ride for Kids was initially a series of PBTF motorcycle events. Riders raised money for children with brain tumors. It has since grown into a nationwide movement across the USA that also involves Honda employees, dealers and customers.
Brandon Wilson is responsible for racing and experiential marketing at American Honda. He says: “This is the third year in a row that Honda HRC Progressive has collaborated with the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation at a SuperMotocross round, and the riders and team truly look forward to it every season.” Wilson also points out that the relationship with the PBTF goes back much further than these three years. He hopes fans will place many generous bids.
Alissa Karas oversees the Ride for Kids program at the PBTF. She says: “For 35 years, American Honda has been a leader in the pediatric brain tumor community, ensuring no child or family faces this diagnosis alone.” Karas also highlights that the campaign has sparked a conversation in racing. As a result, more people are getting to know the foundation and what it offers.

How did the Honda auctions go in 2024 and 2025?
The Carson campaign is the third of its kind. The two previous editions took place in Fort Worth and Charlotte.
In 2024, the team raced with the Imaginary Friends Society characters for the first time at the second round of the SMX series in Fort Worth, Texas. Each rider got his own character. Jett Lawrence rode with “Mr. Spikes”, a robot dinosaur who explains to children what happens during procedures such as blood transfusions. Hunter Lawrence ran “Charlie”, who describes MRI scans as photos from inside the body. Chance Hymas got “Blu”, who gives tips against the fear of injections. Jo Shimoda carried “Ninja”, a white blood cell. The graphics were supplied by Throttle Jockey at the time. Around the race, riders and team members also visited patients at Cook Children’s Medical Center.
In 2025, the SMX season opener in Charlotte, North Carolina, followed. This time the graphics were designed by PBTF patients and their siblings. The theme was “The Power of Dreams: My Podium Moment”. Signed parts from Jett Lawrence, Hunter Lawrence and Jo Shimoda were auctioned at the time. Charlotte also featured a dinner with the families in the pit area.
What does the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation use the money for?
The foundation uses the proceeds to fund research into brain tumors in children. It also supports families living with this diagnosis, including financially.
According to the PBTF, brain tumors are the deadliest form of childhood cancer. Since its founding in 1991, the foundation’s supporters have raised more than 65 million US dollars (approx. 58.2 million euros) for research, according to the foundation. In September 2025, that total still stood at more than 54 million US dollars (approx. 48.3 million euros). Besides research, the foundation advocates for policies intended to help patients and their families.
