- Complete spare parts logistics transferred to DHL Supply Chain at the end of 2025
- DHL Express handles worldwide shipping to dealers and customers
- The transition is part of the separation from KTM and PIERER Mobility
MV Agusta is taking an entirely new approach to spare parts and accessories. The Italian manufacturer has handed over its entire spare parts logistics to DHL Supply Chain, drawing a line under its previous collaboration with KTM’s logistics network. The new partnership is intended to bring nothing less than a complete overhaul of parts supply for dealers and customers worldwide.
Why MV Agusta needed a new logistics partner
The background to this decision dates back to January 2025, when MV Agusta signed a separation agreement with PIERER Mobility AG, the parent company of KTM. Since then, the company has been working under the new ownership structure of Art of Mobility to establish all business areas independently. Until the full separation was complete, spare parts supply continued through KTM’s logistics, although MV Agusta announced in mid-2025 that it was finalising an agreement with a world-leading logistics partner.
The stated goal was ambitious: spare parts should reach customers or dealers worldwide within seven working days of order placement. At the same time, MV Agusta acknowledged that there had been problems with parts availability in the past that had affected both dealers and customers.
DHL Supply Chain takes over warehousing, DHL Express handles shipping
The new structure works as follows: DHL Supply Chain, a leading global provider of supply chain and logistics solutions, took over all warehousing and logistics operations for MV Agusta spare parts and accessories at the end of 2025. International shipping to dealers and end customers is handled by DHL Express, which is responsible for fast delivery.
In parallel, MV Agusta says new IT systems and internal structures are being implemented to enable greater inventory accuracy and faster response times. The combination of DHL logistics and modernised internal infrastructure is intended to deliver three key improvements: more efficient order management, guaranteed on-time deliveries, and concrete solutions to the availability problems of the past.
What the CEOs of both companies say
Luca Martin, CEO of MV Agusta Motor S.p.A., described the move as a decisive step: “Partnering with DHL marks a pivotal step in our commitment to delivering not only extraordinary motorcycles, but also an ownership experience that reflects our brand’s excellence and customer-centric approach. This collaboration allows us to align logistics performance with the high expectations of our global customer base and dealer network.”
Antonio Lombardo, CEO of DHL Supply Chain Italy, also expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration: “We are excited to launch this partnership with MV Agusta, an iconic brand that shares our values of precision, performance, and excellence. Leveraging our global expertise in aftermarket logistics and DHL’s integrated solutions, we will provide agile and resilient supply chain operations to enable MV Agusta to focus on innovation and growth, while ensuring its premium standards are met worldwide.”
The bigger picture: MV Agusta’s path to independence
The logistics partnership with DHL is just one piece of a comprehensive realignment at MV Agusta. Since the separation from PIERER Mobility, the manufacturer based in Schiranna near Varese has implemented a whole series of strategic measures. The Centro Stile, the company’s in-house design department, was moved back to the historic factory in Schiranna to shorten distances between departments and strengthen the tradition of the location.
In production, a new factory layout with a lean production approach was introduced, which MV Agusta says has led to noticeable improvements in efficiency and cost optimisation. The company is also building independent regional offices for key markets in Europe, the Americas, Oceania and Asia, and has signed agreements with private importers to ensure seamless global coverage.
There is also movement on the product side: MV Agusta is working on renewing its entire model range and has initiated the development of a new engine platform. The existing dealer network remains fully intact and is set to be further expanded in strategically important markets.
What the partnership should mean for dealers and customers
For MV Agusta owners and dealers, the key question is whether parts supply will actually improve. The problems of the past are no secret within the community. With DHL Supply Chain, MV Agusta has brought on board a partner with a worldwide network for service logistics and spare parts operations. The combination of DHL Supply Chain for warehousing and DHL Express for fast international shipping is intended to combine global reach with local expertise.
Whether the ambitious seven-working-day target will be achieved in practice remains to be seen. However, with a logistics partner of DHL’s scale, the conditions are considerably better than before.
