Suzuki Germany has unveiled a total of six so-called Edition models for the start of the 2026 season. The idea behind this is not new, but it remains an interesting one: selected motorcycles from different segments are equipped with high-quality accessories ex works and offered at a package price that is lower than what the individual parts would cost in regular accessory stores. Depending on the model, the price advantage ranges from €250 to around €700.
Four Power Editions with Akrapovic titanium slip-on
At the heart of each of the four Power Editions in the lineup is an Akrapovic titanium slip-on muffler, which is installed at the factory. The models affected are the GSX-8T, GSX-8TT, GSX-8R, and GSX-S1000. For the three models based on the GSX-8 platform with their 776 cm³ parallel twin, the Akrapovic muffler is said to deliver a power increase of 1.8 kW, plus an additional 1.4 Nm of torque in certain speed ranges. It also reduces the vehicle weight by 2.2 kg (4.85 lbs).
GSX-8T Power Edition
The GSX-8T is a purist naked bike with modern technology. Standard features include multiple riding modes, ride-by-wire, three-stage traction control, and a bidirectional quickshifter. The high-torque two-cylinder engine is designed to deliver powerful performance even at low revs. As a Power Edition, the GSX-8T costs €12,290 including ancillary costs ex works. The price advantage over purchasing the Akrapovic muffler separately is €250.
GSX-8TT Power Edition
The GSX-8TT features a retro design reminiscent of the street racers of the 1980s. Technically, it is also based on the GSX-8 platform and comes with the same Akrapovic titanium slip-on with identical performance data. Suzuki positions the GSX-8TT as a versatile all-rounder for country roads and city streets. The Power Edition is listed at €12,890, also with a €250 price advantage.
GSX-8R Power Edition
As a fully faired sports bike within the GSX-8 family, the GSX-8R delivers 83 hp (61 kW) from the familiar inline twin. The seating position is sportier than on its sister models, but according to Suzuki, it is still suitable for everyday use. The Akrapovic titanium slip-on is also used here. At €11,290, the GSX-8R Power Edition is the most affordable model in the Edition series and comes with a price advantage of €259.
GSX-S1000 Power Edition
The GSX-S1000 is in a league of its own. Its 999 cm³ inline four-cylinder engine produces 152 hp (112 kW). With the Akrapovic titanium slip-on, power is said to increase by 1.9 kW in certain speed ranges, and torque by 1.6 Nm. In addition, the rear silencer saves one kilogram (2.2 lbs) in weight. The Power Edition is available for €13,990, representing a price advantage of €350.05.
Two touring editions with luggage equipment
In addition to the sporty Power Editions, Suzuki is launching two versions of the V-Strom 1050 with a travel-friendly accessory package. Essentially, this consists of luggage systems and enduro footrests.
V-Strom 1050 Touring Edition
The V-Strom 1050 features a V-twin engine and an electronics package with riding modes and hill hold control. As a Touring Edition, it comes ex-works with plastic side cases, side case racks, a lock set, and enduro footrests. The package costs €15,790, representing a price advantage of €481.46.
V-Strom 1050DE Travel Edition
The V-Strom 1050 DE stands out thanks to its increased off-road capability. Long suspension travel, enduro-sized spoked wheels, wide handlebars, and increased ground clearance make it suitable for off-road use. The Travel Edition comes with aluminum side cases in black or silver, side case racks, a lock set, and enduro footrests. At €16,990, it is the most expensive model in the Edition series, but also offers the highest price advantage of €701.44.
