- Inline four-cylinder engine with 190 hp (140 kW) and 150 Nm
- Electronic updates including cruise control and launch control
- New special edition still under €20,000
Since its market launch in 1999, the Hayabusa has been a fixture among large-volume, high-performance motorcycles. The basic concept remains unchanged for the 2026 model year, while details relating to electronics, equipment, and appearance have been revised. The official data and prices for Germany are now available.
Suzuki is thus continuing the model for another year without changing the technical core of the series.

Engine and performance data remain unchanged
The familiar inline four-cylinder engine with a displacement of 1,340 cubic centimeters will remain at the heart of the Hayabusa in 2026. Maximum power output will remain at 190 hp (140 kW), with maximum torque at 150 Nm (110.6 lb-ft). Despite the current Euro 5+ emissions standard, these key figures remain unchanged. The maximum design speed of around 300 km/h also remains part of the model’s technical identity.
Electronic fine-tuning for 2026
Suzuki has refined the electronic tuning for the new model year. In all three riding modes with ten-stage adjustable traction control, torque delivery from low revs has been further optimized.
Further adjustments include:
- Revised software for the cruise control, which is now supposed to remain active even when changing gears via Quick Shifter.
- Further optimized three-stage launch control.
- Lean-angle-sensitive ABS, which was already standard equipment.
The electronic systems are therefore aimed less at higher peak values and more at refined control during riding.

Lighter lithium-ion battery
A new feature is the use of a lithium-ion battery from ELIIY Power. Compared to conventional lead-acid batteries, this design is significantly lighter. However, there is little change in the overall weight. The Hayabusa weighs 262 kg (577.6 lbs) when ready to ride with a full 20-liter tank. The Special Edition weighs 258 kg (568.8 lbs).
New colors and Special Edition
For 2026, Suzuki is expanding its color range with three new variants:
- Black with dark red accents
- White with blue accents
- Gray with gold accents
In addition, a new Special Edition will be available in Pearl Vigor Blue with white trim. The bright design elements extend across the tank and rear, including the passenger cover. A striking detail for connoisseurs are the black trim panels on the 4-in-2 exhaust system, which set it apart from the standard version.

Prices for Germany
In terms of price, the Hayabusa will remain below the €20,000 mark in the 2026 model year. In Germany, the base model costs €19,390 (approx. $21,330), which is the recommended retail price ex-works plus additional costs.
The Special Edition is priced at €19,890 (approx. US$21,880). By way of comparison, the entry-level price in Germany for the 2025 model year was €18,800.
What does this mean for me as a motorcyclist?
For motorcyclists, it is not so much the hard data that changes in everyday use, but rather the overall feel when riding. The Hayabusa remains a very powerful, heavy motorcycle suitable for long distances, whose character has not fundamentally changed. The electronic updates are primarily aimed at finer control and greater comfort, for example through improved cruise control and optimized torque delivery at low revs. The new lithium-ion battery reduces weight minimally but offers practical advantages in terms of starting performance and efficiency. Those who value a special look will find the Special Edition to be a clearly distinct variant without having to accept technical compromises or additional costs beyond the $20,000 mark.
