Tradition meets modern technology

The Speed Twin 900, which until recently was known as the Street Twin, has become one of TRIUMPH’s most popular models worldwide.  This is not only due to its timeless design, but also to the combination of a powerful engine and light-footed handling that is suitable for all types of riders.  The new version of the Speed Twin 900 remains true to its “Modern Classics” DNA, but also offers new technologies and a refined chassis to further enhance the riding experience.

The main new features include an upside-down fork at the front, which, together with a sports mudguard and fork protectors, ensures greater stability.  At the rear, a lighter aluminum swingarm is used which, in combination with improved suspension struts and a narrower rear frame, ensures more agile handling.  The rear light and mudguard have also been made more compact to give the bike a slimmer and more dynamic look.

Powerful drive with the proven 900 twin

At the heart of the Speed Twin 900 is still the familiar 900 cc Bonneville twin-cylinder engine in the “High Torque” version.  With 65 hp (47.8 kW) at 7,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 80 Nm at 3,800 rpm, the engine offers sufficient power for sporty rides, but also enough torque for relaxed tours.  The ride-by-wire system ensures precise power delivery.  Despite the classic design, the engine remains efficient and meets the current EURO 5 emissions standards.

Design and ergonomics improved in detail

Visually, the Speed Twin 900 remains true to the traditional TRIUMPH line, but has been modernized in many details.  The redesigned fuel tank, slimmer side covers and shorter silencer give the bike more dynamic lines.  In addition, the engine cover and heel guards have been redesigned to reduce weight and improve handling.

The seat has also been redesigned and now not only offers more comfort, but also supports the rider better when cornering.  Thanks to a narrower crotch arch, riders of different heights can stand more securely.  A lower seat is also available as an accessory, which reduces the seat height by 20 mm to 760 mm.

Technical highlights and modern features

In addition to its sporty design, the new Speed Twin 900 also offers a number of technical innovations.  Two riding modes are now available: “Road” for a more dynamic riding style and ‘Rain’ for a smoother throttle response in difficult weather conditions.  This is supported by the standard ABS and traction control, which now work depending on the lean angle.

Another highlight is the revised instrument panel.  It combines an LCD display with a TFT color display that clearly shows all important information such as revs, speed and gear indicator.  The bike can also be optionally equipped with a Bluetooth interface, which enables navigation and control of music and calls.

Availability and prices

The new TRIUMPH Speed Twin 900 will go on sale from February 2025.  In Germany, the model will start at a price of 9,995 euros (approx. 10,600 USD), while in Austria it will be available from 10,995 euros.

As usual, TRIUMPH offers an extensive range of accessories with more than 120 options to customize the bike.  From heated grips to stylistic accents, everything a motorcycle fan’s heart desires is available.
