- TF 450-E with new DLC-coated rocker arm shafts and more extensive gearshift changes
Triumph has had its own enduro bikes in the range since spring 2025 with the TF 250-E and the TF 450-E. After two racing seasons, the British manufacturer is not rebuilding the platform from scratch but is making targeted changes in many small areas. The focus is on the suspension, the clutch and the gearshift. Power, weight and frame remain unchanged. This puts the two enduros among the model updates of the 2027 model year, which for many manufacturers consists more of detail work than of all-new developments.

What is new on the 2027 Triumph TF 250-E and the TF 450-E?
Both enduros get the latest KYB suspension with revised settings and adjusters that work without tools. They also receive revised clutches, changes to the gearshift, a new engine map and all-black plastics.
Some changes are shared by both models. Besides the suspension, these include new fork guards, a revised oil level sight glass and new graphics. The remaining updates differ depending on displacement. The 250 gets new triple clamps, while on the 450 Triumph goes deeper into the gearshift and cylinder head.
How is Triumph changing the KYB suspension of the enduros?
Spring and damping settings are new, and the adjusters can now be turned without tools. This is meant to make setup changes quicker, for example when the terrain changes during an enduro event.
Little changes in terms of hardware. Up front there is still a 48 millimetre KYB AOS fork with steel springs, 300 mm of travel and adjustable compression and rebound damping. At the rear sits a KYB shock with a reservoir, 313 mm of travel and separately adjustable high- and low-speed compression damping. Suspension travel is the same as before.
The TF 250-E also gets new triple clamps from Neken. The supplier is not entirely new, though: the first version of the 250 already used Neken clamps, at the time the same as those on the TF 250-X motocrosser. For 2027 they are forged, made from lightweight 7075-T6 aluminium and specifically tuned to refine the behaviour of the front end. The 450 keeps its own triple clamps.

What changes on the engine of the TF 250-E?
On the TF 250-E, Triumph mainly revises the clutch and gearshift. It gets a new clutch pack with a new bearing, a steel shift star and an ergonomically revised gear lever.
Inside the engine, new valve guides are used. A revised engine management map is designed to improve rideability. The key figures remain the same: the twin overhead cam single has a displacement of 249.9 cc, a bore of 78 mm and a stroke of 52.3 mm with a compression ratio of 14.4:1. Triumph quotes 42.3 hp (31.1 kW) and 27.8 Nm (20.5 lb-ft). The 250 is meant to rev high while delivering its power in a linear way.
Why does the TF 450-E get new rocker arm shafts?
According to Triumph, the new DLC-coated rocker arm shafts are designed to last longer. DLC stands for a very hard, carbon-based surface coating that reduces wear.
The component is not unfamiliar. In autumn 2026, the German Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) recalled the TF 450-E because a rocker arm shaft in the cylinder head can seize and stall the engine. Triumph does not draw a connection between the recall and the model update in its press release. The TF 450-X motocrosser also gets revised DLC-coated rocker arm shafts for 2027, so the change affects the entire 450 family.
In addition, the design and material of the valve guides change on the TF 450-E. The clutch receives a new pack, a new bearing and a new hydraulic hose. On the gearshift, Triumph replaces the shift star, detent lever and shift shaft, and adds a revised gear lever. The SOHC single with 449.5 cc, a 95 mm bore and a 63.4 mm stroke still produces 59.2 hp (43.5 kW) and 48 Nm (35.4 lb-ft). It also gets a new map.

Which technology does Triumph carry over unchanged?
Frame, electronics and equipment remain as they have been since the launch of the range. The basis is an aluminium spine frame with twin lower rails, whose wall thicknesses are machined on the inside to tune weight and stiffness. This is paired with an aluminium swingarm with its own enduro geometry and a forged, machined linkage.
Traction control, launch control, a quickshifter and two engine maps come as standard. Everything is controlled by an Athena ECU with GET Power Assist. Additional maps and settings are available via an optional WiFi function. Braking is handled by Brembo calipers and Galfer discs, 260 mm in diameter at the front and 220 mm at the rear.
D.I.D DirtStar rims run on machined aluminium hubs, 21 inches at the front and 18 inches at the rear, fitted with Michelin enduro tyres. The equipment also includes a ProTaper handlebar with a carbon core and adjustable mounts, ODI grips, a Pyramid seat cover and LED lighting.
The TF 250-E weighs 114.2 kg (251.8 lbs) ready to ride, the TF 450-E 116.7 kg (257.3 lbs). The tank holds 8.3 litres and the wheelbase is 1,488 mm. Triumph is inconsistent on the seat height: in the text the manufacturer states 955 mm, in the technical data 957 mm.
Racing as the basis for the model update
According to Triumph, the changes stem from two years of competition. In the 2026 Enduro World Championship, riders from the factory team and supported teams took 15 wins and 62 podiums. Morgan Lesiardo finished runner-up in the Enduro1 class, while Leo Joyon finished second overall on the TF 250-E in both the Junior World Championship and the Junior1 World Cup. Jonny Walker had already won the AMA EnduroCross Championship on the TF 450-E in 2025 and finished second in the 2026 SuperEnduro World Championship. At the 2026 Six Days, Triumph riders stood on the World Trophy podium in all three teams, with Italy winning ahead of France and Sweden.
Chief Product Officer Steve Sargent says that the experience of Walker, Lesiardo, Joyon and team manager Paul Edmondson has gone into the 2027 models. The aim of the changes to suspension, drivetrain and controls is to give the rider more control and confidence without losing the familiar performance.
