Documents of a design application for the upcoming Honda CRF450R (model 2021), which were submitted in Laos, Japan and New Zealand, have appeared on the Internet. The model should be intended for series production and not as a racing device for the factory drivers.
Basically, the design application shows the motorcycle that is also used in the MXGP. As a production model, you can recognize it by the series silencer. A factory racing machine would be equipped with a copy of Yoshimura.
The upcoming CRF450R is a completely new design. It has a new frame that appears to be thinner and lighter, a new engine, a single muffler, a narrower seat and a lowered rear.
In the previous off-road lineup for 2021, this CRF450R cannot yet be found and an official announcement is still pending. So it will be interesting to see when Honda will officially present the model.
