The 2026 TT has left behind an unusual set of numbers. The weather shaped the entire race week, and in the end only five results made it into the official records. At the same time, the picture at the front was rarely this clear: three riders shared almost all of the podium places between them. A look at the results, lap times and trophies shows how this edition unfolded.
How many races counted at the 2026 TT?
Five races produced a result at the 2026 TT. Ten had originally been planned.
According to the organisers, rain affected seven of the nine days on which racing could have taken place. The opening race day on Saturday was lost straight away. The Superbike race ran on Sunday and the first Supersport race on Tuesday. Racing only resumed on Friday, with the second Supersport race, the first Sportbike race and the Senior TT all scheduled that day. The Supersport races ran over three laps, the Sportbike race over two.
Several classes never got going at all. The Sidecars were withdrawn for the rest of the event after several serious crashes in practice week. Both Superstock races were dropped because the available time windows ran out. On Saturday, the second Sportbike race was cancelled as well. Clerk of the Course Gary Thompson summed it up: “This has undoubtedly been one of the most challenging TTs in recent years from a weather perspective.”
Who won the races at the 2026 TT?
Michael Dunlop won three races and Dean Harrison won two. There were no other winners in 2026.
Harrison opened the week by winning the six-lap RST Superbike TT on the Honda CBR1000RR. Peter Hickman finished second on the BMW, with Dunlop third on his Honda. Both Monster Energy Supersport races ended with the same top three: Dunlop on the Ducati Panigale V2 ahead of Harrison on the Honda CBR600RR and Hickman on the Triumph Street Triple 765 RS. In the Carole Nash Sportbike TT, Dunlop won on the Paton S1-R ahead of Mike Browne, also on a Paton, and Paul Jordan on the Aprilia RS 660.
The Milwaukee Senior TT was red-flagged on Friday during the second lap after a crash involving Erno Kostamo. With no improvement in the weather on Saturday, the organisers declared the result based on the order after the first lap. Harrison was named the winner ahead of Hickman and Josh Brookes. It was the seventh TT win of his career.
How clearly did Harrison, Dunlop and Hickman control the 2026 TT?
Of the 15 podium places across the five races, twelve went to Dean Harrison, Michael Dunlop and Peter Hickman. Each of the three finished on the podium four times.
Only the Sportbike race and the Senior TT left room for anyone else. Mike Browne and Paul Jordan made the podium in the Sportbike race, where Hickman just missed out in fourth. In the Senior TT, Josh Brookes took third place. Hickman is the only one of the three who left 2026 without a win, despite four podium finishes.
For Dunlop, his three victories extended his record. He now has 36 TT wins and remains at the top of the all-time list.
Which lap records and fastest laps were set at the 2026 TT?
The fastest lap of the week was Dean Harrison’s 135.166 mph (approximately 217.5 km/h) in the Senior TT. Michael Dunlop set a new class lap record of 124.530 mph (approximately 200.4 km/h) in the Sportbike race.
Harrison set that time on the first and only counted lap of the Senior TT. In the Superbike race he had posted the fastest lap at 134.892 mph (approximately 217.1 km/h). He was also the quickest rider in the Supersport class, with 129.218 mph (approximately 208 km/h). Dunlop’s best in the Superbike race was 133.933 mph (approximately 215.5 km/h).
For context: the Mountain Course is 37.73 miles long, about 60.72 kilometres per lap on public roads. Over the six laps of the Superbike race, Harrison averaged 131.681 mph (approximately 211.9 km/h).
What awards were presented at the 2026 TT?
Dean Harrison and Michael Dunlop each received seven trophies at the 2026 TT. Further awards went to Barry Furber, Rhys Stephenson, James Chawke and Honda Racing UK.
Among others, Harrison collected the Joey Dunlop Trophy as the best rider across the two big bike races and the Jimmy Simpson Trophy for the fastest lap of the week. His results also earned Honda Racing UK both the team and the manufacturer awards for the solo classes. Dunlop won the Martin Finnegan Trophy for the fastest lap by an Irish rider, a trophy he has won every year since 2010.
The Privateer’s Cup for the best privateer went to Barry Furber. Going into the Senior TT he was level on points with Erno Kostamo. After Kostamo’s crash the cup went to Furber, who finished 19th in the shortened Senior and set a personal best of 126.376 mph (approximately 203.4 km/h). Irish rider James Chawke won the Monster Energy People’s Challenger award, which is decided by a fan vote, with 42 per cent of the votes. He earned a bronze replica in all five solo races and raised his personal best to 125.909 mph (approximately 202.6 km/h) in the Superbike race.
At 20, Rhys Stephenson was the youngest rider in the field. He finished 24th in the Sportbike race to secure his first bronze replica. With a best lap of 114.073 mph (approximately 183.6 km/h), he received the Vernon Cooper Newcomers Trophy for the best newcomer as well as the RST Star of Tomorrow award.
