The press conference was convened to confirm the rumors of the past weeks, Jorge Lorenzo resigns. He announced that the race in Valencia (this weekend) will be his last in MotoGP or professional race.
Who will replace the five-time world champion in the Honda team is still open. Rumors have been around for a while that Alex Marquez (Moto2 World Champion) could climb into MotoGP and take his place alongside his brother. However, Alex Marquez already has a contract in Moto2 for 2020.
Good chances are likely to have Johann Zarco, who currently ride for LCR Honda as a replacement driver for Nakagami.
