Market NoteAs of September 2026, BMW still officially calls the R20 a concept. An official BMW video released on 4 September 2026 (series 'The Ones Who Ride', episode 'Vision') shows an undisguised, near-production black pre-series machine for the first time. Motorrad boss Markus Flasch talks about pulling the sales launch forward: the previously reported start of production was March 2028, Flasch now mentions 2027. Changes versus the concept: a low-mounted exhaust with a collector box instead of open megaphone silencers, a sealed airbox instead of open velocity stacks, BMW four-piston brake calipers instead of ISR six-piston units, plus a new oil cooler and steering damper; the rear tyre shrinks from 200/55 to 190/55 ZR17. Power, torque, weight and price have not been announced officially; the trade press expects 180-200 Nm and at least 120 hp. The 1,550 mm wheelbase and 62.5-degree rake figures come from the concept specification. Possible reveal: EICMA Milan, November 2026.
