The race was originally scheduled for Wednesday at 10:45. Because of the weather disasters on the Isle of Man, it could only be started on Thursday (06.06.2019) at 12.55 clock. The conditions were largely dry. Laurel Bank, Black Dub, Glen Helen, Kerroboar and Ramsey Hairpin still had some wet spots.
Peter Hickman wins Supersport TT race 2
Hickman led the first round at Glen Helen. He was just 0.06 seconds ahead of Hillier. This was followed by Harrison, Gray Johnson, Lee Johnston and Jamie Coward. The first six were all in a window of 2.5 seconds. Ian Hutchinson had problems with his Honda and had to give up the race on the Quarter Bridge.
At Ballaugh, Harrison took the lead from Hillier. Hickman was only half a second behind third. But Ramsey changed that again and Hickman took the lead. Hickman rode 127.21 mph in the first lap, followed by Harrison, Hillier, Conor Cummins, Coward and Johnston.
With no pit stop it went into the second round, the last lap, because the race because of the time problems from four to two laps had to be cut.
At Glen Helen, the gap between Hickman and Hillier was three seconds. Hillier continued to lose track of time, but remained third in the lead six seconds ahead of Cummins.
Hickman set the fastest lap of the race with 128.14 mph. He clinched his first Supersport victory. Harrison finished second, Hillier third.
