New 798 cc three-cylinder engine: performance and sound

At the heart of the Trident 800 is a new liquid-cooled inline three-cylinder engine with a displacement of 798 cc. According to Triumph, the engine delivers 115 hp (84.6 kW) at 10,750 rpm. The maximum torque is specified as 84 Nm at 8,500 rpm. Power is transmitted via a 6-speed transmission with Triumph Shift Assist for clutchless gear changes. The triple throttle system, combined with a new air filter box and a sportily positioned stainless steel rear silencer, ensures a distinctive sound. The engine is designed for a maximum speed of 11,500 rpm.

Suspension and chassis: Focus on agility

The frame of the Trident 800 consists of a lightweight steel tube perimeter design that is designed for easy handling. The total weight when fully fueled is 198 kg (equivalent to approximately 436 lbs) . For the suspension, Triumph uses a 41 mm Showa upside-down fork at the front with separate damping function and adjustable compression and rebound damping, as well as 120 mm of travel. At the rear, a Showa monoshock takes care of the suspension, which can be adjusted for preload and rebound damping and offers 130 mm of travel.

On the braking side, two floating 310 mm brake discs with radially mounted four-piston calipers are used at the front, while a 220 mm disc is braked by a single-piston floating caliper at the rear. Steel braided brake lines are fitted as standard. The Trident rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels with Michelin tires measuring 120/70 R17 at the front and 180/55 R17 at the rear.

Features: Modern technology and high connectivity

The Trident 800 comes with a wide range of electronic features as standard. These include three riding modes (Rain, Road, Sport), lean-angle-sensitive traction control, and lean-angle-sensitive cornering ABS. The My Triumph Bluetooth system enables smartphone connectivity, music control, navigation, and telephony. It is operated via the left handlebar control, and the information is displayed on a 3.5-inch TFT color display.

Other features include cruise control, Triumph Shift Assist for clutchless gear changes, LED lighting with distinctive daytime running lights, self-canceling turn signals, and a clear instrument display.

Ergonomics and design: Compact proportions, sporty appearance

Visually, the Trident 800 has a sporty, compact look with an emphatically muscular 14-liter tank and slim rear section. The seat is 810 mm above the ground, and the narrow design is intended to provide a secure footing. The design combines clean lines with high-quality details such as gold-colored cast wheels, a color-coordinated front spoiler, and a discreet seat logo. The Trident is available in three color options: Ash Grey with Diablo Red, Carnival Red with Graphite, and Jet Black.

Customization and accessories

A range of genuine accessories is available for further customization. These include an Akrapovič muffler with titanium casing and carbon end cap, as well as various styling and comfort options.

Maintenance and service

Triumph specifies service intervals of 16,000 km (10,000 miles) or 12 months, whichever comes first. In Germany and Austria, the Trident 800 comes with a four-year manufacturer’s warranty.

Market launch and prices

The new Trident 800 is available to order now and will go on sale in April 2026. The starting price in Germany is €9,695 (approx. $10,255), while in Austria it is €11,295 (approx. $11,945). A four-year manufacturer’s warranty is included in both countries. The exact delivery costs depend on the respective dealer (Germany) or are already included in the price (Austria, including NOVA).
