BMW Motorrad is using the 115th edition of the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy as the occasion for a new special edition based on its flagship superbike. The BMW M 1000 RR Limited Edition Isle of Man TT combines the technology of the M Competition variant with a distinctive design concept that directly references the legendary Mountain Course. Production is limited to exactly 115 units — a number that is anything but coincidental.
- Limited to 115 units worldwide, marking the 115th anniversary of the Tourist Trophy in 2026
- Based on the BMW M 1000 RR M Competition producing 218 PS (160.4 kW) from the 999 cc ShiftCam inline-four
- Price in Germany: 49,900 euros (approximately 57,885 USD), in the UK 43,990 pounds

What Sets the Limited Edition Apart from the Standard M 1000 RR?
The special edition receives no mechanical changes compared to the standard M 1000 RR with M Competition package. Under the bodywork sits the same 999 cc inline-four with ShiftCam technology, producing 218 PS (160.4 kW) and a peak torque of 113 Nm (83 lb-ft) at 11,100 rpm. The chassis, the electronics with Slide Control and Brake Slide Assist, and the full M Competition package specification all remain unchanged. The pillion kit is omitted as standard.
The difference lies entirely in the visual presentation and collector appeal. A British Racing Green Uni Matt finish forms the foundation of the design, which is consistently themed around the TT. Selected corners of the Mountain Course appear as graphics on the fairing sides, with left-hand bends on the left side and right-hand bends on the right. The carbon airbox cover features a graphic of the entire TT course along with the official TT logo in a matte finish. The aluminum tank receives a Satin Chrome finish with graphic accents, the seat is upholstered in black Alcantara material, and the swingarm is finished in black.
What Exclusive Features Are Included?
Each of the 115 units receives an individually engraved number on the triple clamp along with a certificate of authenticity. The numbering is applied by laser engraving. TT branding and lettering on the subframe further reinforce the connection to the race.
The delivery package also includes an M Race Cover Kit for track use, M paddock stand bobbins, a rear paddock stand, and an M motorcycle mat measuring 250 x 105 cm featuring both the M logo and TT logo. This complete package positions the Limited Edition squarely as a collector’s piece, aimed — according to BMW Motorrad — at customers who want to combine performance with exclusivity and collectible value.

How Much Does the BMW M 1000 RR Limited Edition Isle of Man TT Cost?
In Germany, the price is 49,900 euros (approximately 57,885 USD). In the UK, it is listed at 43,990 pounds (approximately 52,560 euros / 60,970 USD), in France at 50,000 euros, and in the Netherlands at 59,000 euros (approximately 68,440 USD). A price close to 50,000 USD is expected for the US market, though official confirmation is still pending. Allocation to individual markets is extremely limited. What Is BMW’s History at the Isle of Man TT?
BMW Motorrad CEO Markus Flasch places the special edition in the context of the manufacturer’s TT heritage: “Racing is part of BMW Motorrad’s DNA. The BMW M 1000 RR Limited Edition Isle of Man TT is therefore the logical step for a special edition based on the BMW M 1000 RR. This model bridges our successful TT history and our M models, and stands in a special way for racing DNA, technical precision, and exclusivity.”
The connection between BMW and the TT dates back to 1939. That year, Georg Meier won the Senior TT on the BMW RS 255 Kompressor, a supercharged racing machine. That victory is regarded as one of the brand’s most significant pre-war road racing achievements. In 1976, another TT milestone followed: Helmut Dähne, together with Hans-Otto Butenuth, won the 1,000 cc Production Class on the BMW R 90 S.

How Successful Is the BMW M 1000 RR on the Mountain Course?
In the modern era, BMW Motorrad continued its TT legacy with the RR models. Michael Dunlop achieved a breakthrough in the 1,000 cc class on the BMW S 1000 RR in 2014. Peter Hickman then defined the subsequent period of success with multiple victories, including a hat-trick in 2022: wins in Superbike, Superstock, and Senior TT on BMW machinery within a single race week.
In 2023, Hickman set a milestone that still stands today. On a BMW M 1000 RR in Superstock specification, he posted the outright all-time lap record on the Mountain Course: 16:36.115 minutes at an average speed of 136.358 mph, equivalent to approximately 219.4 km/h. In 2025, Davey Todd underlined the competitiveness of the BMW M 1000 RR with a Superbike victory and further strong results in the 1,000 cc classes.
The Limited Edition draws on this racing heritage and translates it into a numbered, documented production motorcycle. Whether any of the 115 units will ever actually be ridden on the Mountain Course is another matter entirely. Most will likely spend their days in climate-controlled garages rather than on a race track. The technical capability to do so, however, is very much there.
Where Will the Limited Edition Be Unveiled?
The BMW M 1000 RR Limited Edition Isle of Man TT is set to be exhibited at this year’s Tourist Trophy, taking place on the Isle of Man in 2026. The unveiling thus coincides with the very racing event the special edition references. The 2026 TT marks the 115th edition on the Snaefell Mountain Course, which spans 60.7 km (37.73 miles).
Within the context of BMW Motorrad’s 2026 new model lineup, the Limited Edition takes its place as a collector’s model that represents not a technical evolution but rather an exclusive design variant on an already proven platform.
