Honda is bringing the story of its fifth Adventure Roads event to major streaming platforms for the first time. The 48-minute documentary about the tour from Rome to Istanbul is now available on Apple TV+ and Amazon Prime Video, while two new events with a revised concept have already been announced for 2026.
  • Honda releases its first feature-length film about the Adventure Roads program on Apple TV+ (€2.49) and Amazon Prime Video (€3.99)
  • The fifth edition of the event took 30 participants from 19 nations on the CRF1100L Africa Twin across 2,500 kilometers from Rome to Istanbul
  • For 2026, Honda switches to the XL750 Transalp with E-Clutch and offers two shorter, skill-oriented tours through the Pyrenees and the Alps

With the move to Apple TV+ and Amazon Prime Video, Honda is breaking new ground in the motorcycle sector. For the first time, the Japanese manufacturer is using the reach of major streaming services to make the story of one of its Adventure Roads events accessible to a worldwide audience. The film documents the fifth edition of the format, which has existed since 2017 and brings together motorcyclists from around the world for professionally organized long-distance tours.

What Does the Honda Adventure Roads Film Show?

The 48-minute documentary follows 30 participants from 19 different nations on their approximately 2,500-kilometer journey from Rome to Istanbul. The route was ridden on the Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin. It led along the sun-drenched coastal roads of Italy, through dense forests and along gravel tracks in Montenegro and Albania, all the way to the Bosporus in Turkey.

The film focuses less on riding dynamics or technical product details. Instead, the group dynamic character of the event takes center stage. The documentary shows how an internationally mixed group of motorcyclists forms a close-knit community through shared challenges and experiences. It addresses both the logistical and physical demands of a multi-day long-distance ride and the friendships that develop along the way.

Which Prominent Riders Appear in the Film?

The tour’s support team included several well-known faces from professional motorsport. HRC Dakar Rally pilots Adrien Van Beveren and Pablo Quintanilla were present, as were former Motocross World Champion Dave Thorpe and brand ambassador Kirian Mirabet. According to Honda, their presence underscores the event’s sports-oriented ambition. The professionals served as instructors and mentors during the tour, teaching participants technical skills and building their confidence off-road.

Honda positions the Adventure Roads program as a professionally organized environment where riders can push their personal limits without being on their own. The combination of experienced instructors, logistical support, and a challenging but controlled route is designed to allow participants to experience the full potential of their machines.

How Much Does the Film Cost and Where Is It Available?

The documentary is now available on two platforms. On Apple TV+, the price is €2.49, while on Amazon Prime Video the film costs €3.99 (approximately $4.20). Honda has also released an official trailer that provides a first impression of the journey.

Why Is Honda Switching from the Africa Twin to the Transalp for 2026?

While the documentary brings the 2025 adventure to screens, the next evolution of the program is already set. For the 2026 season, Honda is making a fundamental change: instead of the CRF1100L Africa Twin, the XL750 Transalp with E-Clutch will be used going forward. Honda cites the goal of making the event accessible to a broader range of riders as the reason for this decision.

The Transalp with its 755 cc parallel twin and electronic clutch significantly lowers the entry barrier for less experienced adventure riders. The E-Clutch system with throttle-by-wire allows riders to start, stop, and shift without manually operating the clutch. Experienced riders can still operate the clutch manually if they prefer. Honda aims to specifically attract younger riders, female riders, and newcomers to the adventure scene in general, without diluting the event’s standards.

Nick Bennett, Brand Marketing Section Manager at Honda Motor Europe, stated: “We’re excited to showcase the capabilities of the latest XL750 Transalp, with its innovative Honda E-Clutch and DreamTech technologies. Its accessibility, rideability and specification make it the perfect partner for this year’s adventures and make it a highly appealing prospect to an even wider range of riders.”

What Changes in the Adventure Roads 2026 Format?

In addition to the motorcycle change, Honda is also revamping the event format. Previous Adventure Roads events were designed as long-distance expeditions covering more than 2,000 kilometers. For comparison, the 2024 Morocco edition stretched over several thousand kilometers and cost participants up to €6,000 according to Gear Patrol.

For 2026, Honda is instead opting for two shorter, skill-oriented trail and off-road tours through Europe. Each event lasts three days with two and a half riding days. The first tour runs from June 11 to 14 through the Pyrenees, from Barcelona to Toulouse. The second event takes place from September 10 to 13 in the Alps, following the route from Turin to Nice. According to Honda, the Alpine tour leads over the switchbacks of the Colle delle Finestre, the historic military tracks of the Strada dell’Assietta, and the Col de la Bonette, before the route descends through the Mercantour National Park to the Riviera.

Each event is limited to 30 participants. The cost is €850 (approximately $900) per event. This price includes the motorcycle, guided riding, training, accommodation, and meals. Only flights and personal expenses must be covered by the participants themselves. Compared to previous editions, this represents a significant price reduction.

What Are the DreamTech Challenges?

As a new element, Honda integrates so-called DreamTech Challenges into the program. These are special riding exercises designed to demonstrate the benefits of E-Clutch technology in practice. Three formats are planned: Technical Climb (technical uphill riding), Adventure Flow (dynamic off-road riding), and Low Speed Technical Course (technical slow-speed course). The exercises aim to show how the electronic clutch relieves the rider of manual clutch operation, allowing concentration on line selection and terrain.

Which Partners Support Honda Adventure Roads 2026?

Honda continues to rely on a network of established partners for 2026. Dunlop returns as the official tire partner after its debut in 2025. Additionally, Honda Official Accessories, communication system manufacturer Cardo, motorcycle apparel specialist Alpinestars, and luggage manufacturer Enduristan support the events. Nick Bennett emphasized that Honda strives to improve the experience every year and expressed confidence that the 2026 tours will offer participants unforgettable experiences.

An additional incentive: those who successfully participate in one of the 2026 events will receive priority consideration for the Adventure Roads 2027 selection. The same applies to participants from previous editions.
