Honda and IXON Join Forces on Rider Gear

With this cooperation, both companies aim to combine their respective strengths: Honda provides the design language and brand DNA, while IXON brings nearly 30 years of experience in developing technical motorcycle apparel. The goal is a product line that is visually aligned with the Honda model range while meeting the protective standards of a specialized apparel manufacturer. IXON was founded in France in 1996 and is now represented in over 70 countries. The company’s range includes leather and textile clothing, helmets, gloves, boots, and airbag systems.

Three Segments, One Collection

The first Honda × IXON Collection covers three areas of use: Sport, Street, and Adventure. This means the partnership addresses a broad spectrum of rider types, from track day enthusiasts to daily commuters to touring riders.

In the Sport segment, the Vortex 3 leather suit is the flagship product. It comes in Honda’s Blue and Red colors and was specifically designed for riders of CBR supersport models. Features include an aerodynamic hump in MotoGP style, a removable mesh vest for climate regulation, and extensive stretch zones on the shoulders, back, and knees. According to Honda, the suit was developed for track use and is intended to provide freedom of movement and control in dynamic riding situations.

For the Street segment, there is the Striker 2 jacket, styled in the classic roadster look in black with red accents. The Street segment is complemented by the Smoton Urban Jacket, designed for daily use in urban environments and said to feature practical design details for enhanced comfort and functionality.

Adventure Gear with a Modular Approach

The Adventure segment includes the Odin jacket, which will be available in two color variants. Honda and IXON particularly emphasize the weather protection and high adaptability of this model. The jacket can be combined with the matching Odin pants in a slim-fit cut, available in the same color options. Together, both pieces form a coordinated touring outfit.

The collection is completed by three glove models: the Sinergy, the Rise Air 2, and the Mig 2 as a short-cuff variant. According to Honda, all products in the collection were developed to match the ergonomics and design language of Honda motorcycles.

Exclusive Distribution Through Honda Dealers

The collection is set to be available from March 2027 exclusively through the European Honda dealer network. With this distribution strategy, both partners are relying on the existing infrastructure of Honda dealerships and deliberately forgoing sales through independent motorcycle apparel shops or online stores.

Rui Rosa, Deputy General Manager Motorcycles at Honda Motor Europe, puts the partnership into context: “In motorcycling, the connection between rider and machine is what counts. With IXON, we are creating a collection that takes comfort and safety to the next level – and makes the Honda Spirit tangible in every seam.”

IXON founder and president Thierry Maniguet also emphasizes the shared vision: “Honda stands for first-class motorcycles – IXON for technical protective apparel. Together, we are creating a collection that thinks holistically about the riding experience: from performance on the road to the gear.”

Context: Manufacturer Collaborations as a Growing Trend

The partnership between Honda and IXON is part of a trend that is gaining increasing importance in the motorcycle industry. More and more manufacturers are entering into collaborations with specialized apparel brands to offer their customers a brand-coordinated complete package. The approach of jointly developing technical protective gear with an apparel specialist rather than merely selling license products with logo prints goes a step further than classic merchandising collections.

Whether the exclusive tie to the Honda dealer network proves to be an advantage or a limitation will likely only become apparent after the market launch. Prices for the individual products in the collection have not yet been announced.
