Johann Zarco’s contract with the KTM factory team in MotoGP will be prematurely terminated. Actually, Zarco should have competed for KTM until the end of 2020, but the Frenchman asked for early dissolution.
Johann Zarco and KTM will split up at the end of the year
He admits he can not cope with the KTM RC16 and would like to reorientate himself for next year. KTM boss Stefan Pierer accepted the request of Zarco. Pierer believes the MotoGP rider is showing signs of burnout. Supposedly, it was even considered not to let him run in one or two races.
Already in the last year Zarco had form fluctuations because of private problems. Where and if Zarco will race 2020 is still open. Some time ago there were rumors about a change in the WSBK, these were denied at this time from Zarco.
KTM now has to look around for a new driver for 2020. That could give the rider carousel and especially the rumors a little more momentum.
