In February 2023, Amazon Prime will release another MotoGP documentary. Accompanied is Marc Marquez on his long ordeal with several severe injuries, surgeries and comeback attempts.

The documentary will be released in February in more than 200 countries and includes five episodes that follow Marc Marquez on his arduous journey back to the grid.

It already began at the start of the 2020 season

As reported, Marc Marquez broke his right upper arm in a crash at the season opener in Jerez in 2020.  After an operation, he wanted to return to the grid at the very next race, but here he crashed again, which presumably damaged the plate that had been inserted to stabilize the bone.  At the time, there were also reports that the plate was damaged when a window was opened.  Perhaps the documentary will even clarify this issue and clarify what was really the problem.

Marc Marquez had to undergo surgery a second time, but despite a very long recovery time, the bone did not want to heal properly.  Finally, an infection was detected, which made another operation necessary.

As a result, he even missed the first three races of the 2021 season. During his comeback to the MotoGP grid, he visibly struggled with pain and limited mobility despite several successes.

After a violent highsider, Marquez struggled with diplopia, a double vision condition due to an injured optic nerve.  This injury also necessitated a longer break.  After another comeback, the diplopia returned a little later because of another crash.  This time he recovered more quickly, but still had to struggle with limited movement in his right arm when driving.

A fourth operation was necessary because the upper arm bone had grown together in a twisted way.

Comeback attempts, setbacks, motivation

Since the season opener in 2020, Marc Marquez has been injured most of the time and missed an extreme amount of MotoGP races because of it.  The documentary offers insights into how Marc Marquez fared during this time, how he dealt with a possible career end, how he managed to keep his motivation and how he still didn’t give up despite the many comebacks and the many setbacks.
