Stark Varg Factory Edition: KYB Works Suspension in Series Production for the First Time

Stark Future is building two strictly limited special editions of its electric off-road motorcycle. All 500 machines get a complete works suspension of the kind normally reserved for race teams.
  • 200 units of the Varg MX Factory Edition, 300 of the Varg EX Factory Edition
  • Prices starting at €15,990 ($15,990), deliveries from September 10, 2026 according to the configurator
  • Complete KYB Factory A-Kit, according to the manufacturer fitted from the factory in a production motorcycle for the first time

Stark Future unveiled two special series of the Varg in Barcelona on July 22, 2026. The Varg MX Factory Edition targets motocross riders, while the Varg EX Factory Edition is aimed at street-legal enduro riders. Both are based on the familiar Varg platform but receive components that were previously reserved for racing. Race director Sébastien Tortelli, a former motocross world champion, was responsible for putting the package together.

What sets the Factory Edition apart from the standard Stark Varg?

The Factory Editions don’t get a more powerful drivetrain, but better suspension and less weight. Output stays at 80 hp (58.8 kW); what changes is everything between rider and ground.

At the heart of it is a complete KYB Factory A-Kit. Add to that titanium parts, a grippier seat, numbered CNC triple clamps, and Dynamic Traction Control integrated into the riding modes. Stark Future explicitly describes the models not as a cosmetic package but as a technical package. Every component is meant to deliver more grip, more precision, or more control.

According to the manufacturer, all 500 machines are hand-built by the same technicians who also look after the race program. Suspension setup, electronics, and chassis are said to match what is used in competition.

Why is the KYB Factory A-Kit so special?

A Factory A-Kit is a racing suspension that is normally not for sale and goes only to factory teams. Stark Future states that this is the first time a manufacturer has fitted such a package in full on a production motorcycle.

Up front, a 48-millimeter upside-down fork works with a closed cartridge and steel spring, with air and oil kept separate. The internals are hard-anodized, and the stanchions carry a DLC coating; both are meant to reduce friction. An additional mid-speed valve widens the adjustment range, and a special spring seat is designed to give the front wheel better control on landings.

At the rear sits a triple-adjustable shock with a Kashima-coated body and DLC-coated piston rod. An X-Trig adjuster allows negative travel to be set more quickly. The Varg MX Factory Edition offers 310 millimeters of front travel, the Varg EX Factory Edition 300 millimeters; both get 303 millimeters at the rear. Buyers can choose the setup for three rider-weight ranges. Bought separately, Stark Future says the suspension package alone would cost around €5,500.

How much weight do the titanium parts save?

Together, the titanium components save 1.1 kilograms according to the manufacturer. The largest share comes from the titanium bolt kit at around 900 grams, plus 3D-printed titanium footpegs at about 140 grams.

That may not sound like much, but it matters where mass sits unfavorably. Stark Future promises quicker direction changes and more direct response. The Varg MX Factory Edition weighs 116.9 kilograms (257.7 pounds) as a result. The package is rounded out by CNC-machined aluminum triple clamps with tapered handlebar mounts numbered from 1 to 500, a redesigned fan mount made from bio-based PA6, and a hand lever for the rear brake, whose availability depends on local homologation.

Stark Varg MX Factory Edition: technology and equipment

The MX version wears the Stark Red paint scheme with Factory Edition graphics and rolls on Dunlop MX34 tires. The frame is made of high-strength steel. Up front, a Brembo two-piston caliper bites a 260-millimeter disc; at the rear, a single-piston caliper works on a 220-millimeter disc.

The drivetrain matches the current Varg platform: an SPMAC electric motor with a carbon housing and a battery rated at 7.2 kilowatt-hours at 420 volts. The included portable charger delivers 3.3 kilowatts. Charging takes around two hours at 240 volts and about three-and-a-half hours at 120 volts. Stark Future quotes rear-wheel torque at 978 newton-meters (721 lb-ft). Wheelbase is 148.7 centimeters, seat height 96.0 centimeters, and ground clearance 33.9 centimeters.

Stark Varg EX Factory Edition: what can the enduro version do?

The EX is the street-legal variant and can therefore also be ridden outside closed-off tracks. It is homologated under L3e-A1E and reaches 129 kilometers per hour (80 mph).

Visually, its Forest Grey paint sets it apart from the red MX. Technically, it gets a chromoly steel frame, an enduro-specific suspension setup, Dunlop Geomax EN91 Medium tires, disc guards front and rear, and hand guards. Seat height is 99.0 centimeters fully extended and 96.6 centimeters with rider aboard, sagged. Ground clearance is a bit more generous than on the MX, at 36.8 and 34.5 centimeters respectively. The EX is intended for tight trails, rough terrain, and long days in the saddle.

Tortelli describes the goal like this: “The VARG already has the performance. With the Factory Editions, the focus was to give riders more grip, more precision, and more confidence to unlock more of that performance. These are built exactly how I would build my own.”

What does the Stark Varg Factory Edition cost and when will it be delivered?

The Varg MX Factory Edition costs €15,990 ($15,990), the Varg EX Factory Edition €16,990 ($16,990). The manufacturer’s configurator lists September 10, 2026 as the expected delivery date.

In the United Kingdom, prices are £13,990 and £14,990; in Australia, AU$23,990 and AU$25,990; in Canada, CA$20,990 and CA$22,490. Orders can be placed either directly through the manufacturer’s website or via so-called Stark Premium Dealerships. Both series will run through production only once, with no follow-up run planned.

How does the special model fit into the Stark lineup?

The Factory Editions sit at the top of a range that now spans several variants: the Enduro EX, the motocross version MX 1.2, and the supermoto derivative SM. The special models are therefore the most consistent expansion stage of the Varg to date.

Stark Future points to its own racing program as the rationale. Experience from FIM World Supercross, Arenacross, FIM SuperEnduro, EnduroGP, the Hard Enduro World Championship, and the Erzbergrodeo is said to have fed back into the production motorcycles. In 2026, the platform reportedly earned a gold medal at the X Games, according to the company, along with top finishes at the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo. For the 2026 model year, the two special series mark one of the clearest attempts so far to position electric off-road technology in competition with classic combustion-powered race machines.
