Aprilia is conducting a recall campaign in 2025 for several models in the RS and Tuono series. The recall affects the left handlebar, which does not comply with current EU regulations.
  • Affected models: RS 457, RS 660, and Tuono 660
  • Free replacement of the left handlebar at the dealer
  • Cause: Rubber not compliant with EU REACH directive

Following internal quality checks, Aprilia has determined that the left handlebar on certain models does not comply with the applicable EU limits for chemical substances. The measure is intended to avoid potential risks and will be carried out free of charge as a precautionary measure.

Recall affects three current models

Aprilia is recalling the RS 457, RS 660, and Tuono 660 models. According to the manufacturer, ongoing quality control checks revealed that the rubber used in the left handlebar does not comply with the requirements of the European REACH regulation. This regulation sets limits for chemical substances in order to protect the health of users.

Not critical in terms of safety, but replacement planned

The problem is said to affect only the left handle. According to Aprilia, there is no restriction of safety-related functions. However, in order to rule out any risks, the component will be replaced as a precautionary measure. The procedure should only take a few minutes and will be carried out in authorized workshops.

Replacement procedure and checking whether your motorcycle is affected

Aprilia recommends that affected owners make an appointment with their dealer. To do this, you will need the vehicle identification number, which can be found in the letter, on the motorcycle itself, or in the registration certificate (Part II). You can check online at any time using a VIN check tool to see whether your motorcycle is affected by the campaign.

Until the replacement is carried out, the manufacturer advises wearing protective gloves. The new handle is intended to be a permanent solution to eliminate any potential risks.
