What Technology Powers the Tornado 550’s Engine?

According to media reports from an initial test ride at the Autodromo di Modena, the Tornado 550 feels stable and holds its line well, without being especially agile. The engine pulls strongly from the low-to-mid range and revs cleanly, though the rev limiter kicks in fairly abruptly shortly after peak power.

For the test, Benelli fitted the sportier Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV Corsa tyres and switched off the rider aids. The braking performance stood out positively, described as rarely found at this level of quality in this class. Criticism was directed at the gearbox, which demands decisive shift inputs, and at the lack of a quickshifter. Lean angle is limited by the footpegs, side-stand mount and fairing touching down, which should hardly matter on public roads.
